Re: Cox's Walk footbridge

If the info on the petition site is true it appears essentially: 1. The trees don’t need to be felled for the works to be done 2. The trees aren’t the cause of the damage to the bridge/works that need to be done and therefore again don’t need to be removed as a necessity Obviously there will be incr...

For some reason the link doesn’t work so here is the correct link as per the website (rather than info on the flyer): https://www.clublolaldn.com/naija

Club Naija Dinner Club (Nigerian food) at Ignition Taproom

Popped into Ignition this eve and on top of the scotch eggs and brownies produced by Club Naija I noticed information regarding a Sunday dinner club that is kicking off this week I believe. Details copied from the flyer below: Club Naija: Modern Nigerian food and supper clubs Experience the colours,...

Re: Planning Watch [w/b 19/08/2019] inc new flats 154 Sydenham Road

Just going back a little I noticed an application on the large empty double unit opposite puregym from July. The application is for a change of use from retail to restaurant. Any ideas if there is something being planned or more the owner is changing use in the hope someone will take it on as a rest...

Shout out/events at Sydenham library

Maybe I’m missing something but it feels as if the library doesn’t have the most prominent social media presence so thought I’d big up the work by the volunteers and the events that take place. PLEASE BE AWARE the following are all copied off the website and I’m not entirely sure how up to date it i...

Recommend a garage for MOT?

As the title says - anyone used Sydenham Autos on Newlands Park? (Prob just about closest one for us) Any recommendations nearby would be great.

Cheers.

Re: Development of Beckenham Place Park

Not making a comment on BPP / Funding etc. But just thought I’d mention that it appears as if the map has some sort of glitch so hopefully the info you are looking at/talking about is correct for what you want to say rather than deprivations scales being inaccurate! The bit I’m looking at in particu...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

All I think is that it’s pretty despicable behaviour on all accounts and I find it highly highly suspicious that 1. CB gets caught out lying directly to members of the forum 2. Is caught making up a fake account to use to his own benefit, something he has been repeatedly accused of in the past. 3. T...

Re: Bingo and bikes in Sydenham

It’s pretty much the polar opposite of what was rumoured to happen - a laser quest / escape room! I’ve always maintained that as long as a place has plans for something new or different to what’s currently on offer (although a few of the same type of thing can be good for variety and competition) an...

Re: What's up with Cherry and Ice??

Hopefully it’s okay to bump this up- Just a reminder that cherry and ice have recently started up a weekly art club on Thursdays 7-9 and am sure they would appreciate people giving it a whirl (whilst enjoying their refurb and delicious drinks) and people spreading the word.

Re: What's up with Cherry and Ice??

The art gallery at the back (and the secret garden that I didn’t know existed until last week!) is all set-up and the first events since the refurb are: Cherry and Ice Art Club (drawing and painting) - 7pm to 9pm every Thursday. “Live models, tutorials, themed nights and more”. “Refreshments and mat...

Re: Ignition brewery events next week

The blurb for Pride is below but the other two were mentioned to me informally by bar staff as I was leaving yesterday - can’t find anything online afraid On Friday 5th July, Ignition welcomes LGBTQI+ people and their Allies to our pre-Pride party! DJ, raffle, rainbows and team Ignition! The perfect...

This Thursday (27.06) Beer and burger @ Alexandra Nurseries

Just thought I’d just flag up that Alexandra Nurseries in Penge (parish lane, opposite The Alexandra pub) are doing another beer and burger afternoon/evening as supplied by the local Southey Brewery.

Beer, burgers, the cafe and shop are all open until 9pm.

Re: Planning Watch [w/b 03/06/2019]

I think initially both “more yoga” and “dragonfly yoga” were looking at/hoping to open in Sydenham and you are right, the corner site with the old ladbrokes/current short-term (?) St.Christophers was a site one had in mind. Due to a number of things this didn’t get sorted in time and St.Christophers...
