Good point well made. Yes - since the high street is looking considerably better than it used to, this needs to be reflected.
I'm not sure where I can purchase a 'Sunday best' but I'll be sure to iron a shirt and don a new pair of trousers for the occasion.

Brown and Green (AKA Mayow Park Cafe): Fab!!
Just had a very fine breakfast there. Brilliant place. Really nicely decorated inside and out. Mayow Park's nice anyway - but this cafe is a brilliant addition to the park and Sydneham.
Great atmosphere and really bustling. It deserves to be a real success.
Come on On The Hoof ... your turn ...

Re: Mayow Park Café Openings
According to one of the builders the Mayow Park cafe is opening this coming Monday (allegedly) and it looks really nice inside - and will be a fabulous addition to what is already a lovely park. I love a grabbing a cappucino (from Kente - bless him - such a nice little cafe that secretly could do wi...

The odd fish aquatics thing? I'm indifferent. Seems pretty niche to me. Slightly random exotic fish emporium. But that sports thing on the high street looks absolutely sh*t. Awful signage and somebody should have been able to put their foot down and said it's got to look better than that. What the h...

Re: Sydenham Artisan Market - Sat 12 July 2014
I thought it would be a bit more food focused. There was a bread stall - but surely to bring more customers you need to smell food being cooked, and cheese and meats sold there. They used to do that but I went there today and I didn't fancy buying a random hat. Where's all the 'artisan' food type st...

Re: On the Hoof Bistro
A good looking bistro on the highstreet ? - you're onto a winner!
Love your coffees at the station (and brilliant staff too!)
I think your venture could kick-start a much better looking bunch of shops and amenities ... good luck guys.

It's getting ridiculous. It's got algae growing on it.
They'll be a little eco-system starting soon. Scientists will start visit to witness how life on earth first started.
Ok I'm exaggerating a bit - but the algae bit is true.

Hope nothing serious and in terms of Sydenham's reputation I hope it's nothing 'stabby'.

... Lovely in Mayow Park today. It's a really nice space and looking good on this sunny afternoon BUT it would be great if the tennis courts could be re-surfaced. Once of the courts is almost unplayable (although the uneven bounce is good for the reflexes if not the achilles tendon) but I think it w...

Cherry & Ice
Cherry and Ice cafe was on good form on Saturday. It's beginning to find its feet and the staff are very friendly in there. I think it needs a spot of music 'jazz/lounge sounds' on in the background - but it's a real asset to the high street - the sandwiches and rolls there were excellent. Let's sup...

Re: Regency Club
Why don't we all drop Antic an email and ask them to have another go with Sydenham? You/we could mention the Regency option - although I still like the idea of them sorting out the Greyhound if they agree on more space this time. Do they have anything to do with the wine bar that's been mentioned in...

That could be a great little bar like The Dartmouth … same kind of size/lay-out. We need another decent bar up this end of the high street (Dolphin doing very well it seems down the other end) … the Dolphin has really grown on me over the years.

Those 'leaf' lights look good, no?
think the pedestrian areas are looking great with the trees and new lights. Just don't sit down on the 'iron' park bench on a frosty day - they'll take your arse off!
Like sticking your tongue in a freezer …

Re: 16 brand new trees
Think they look great. And they're bare (obviously) and small (at the moment) and they still make the place look much better. High street looking good. It just needs 'some' of the shops on the high street to buck their ideas up and make an effort. And that f****g (sorry - but it's getting ridiculous...

sing-a-long everyone! (to which tune, I've no idea).
I really should get out more.
