Re: Mayow Park Café Operators Announced!
Popped to mayow park earlier for the first time. Some beautiful trees around! Didn't realise how big the bowling green space was so my brief ideas were in thinking with a much smaller area.. The cafe is gonna look amazing with he grow mayow stuff around it.

Re: Mayow Park Café Operators Announced!
With regards to the space - I haven't even been to mayor park but from what I've seen in various parks and what is/isn't available nearby perhaps either: 1. Well-being space (as previously mentioned) 2. Something where you would go collect things from cafe to use, increasing visitors to cafe. Exampl...

Re: £18 to walk through the Thames tunnel
Tickets are on sale. I mentioned all this to my dad and his beady eyes got back to me earlier today saying on sale and selling fast. No idea how he would know that - prob just keen for me to reply swiftly!

Re: Happy St George's Day to All
No offence or belittling intended G-man and sincere apologies if offended by my comment. Was just an off hand observation about the (unfortunate) feeling one gets when walking into a arena coated in st.georges flags. I personally am not a great celebrater of anything really (not even birthdays) but ...

Re: Exciting new kirkdale developments?
I will definately be making a concerted (spelling?) to be there on opening night and drag as many people along as possible on my bi-weekly visits (should it be lovely!) or so... I try and visit/go to places semi-regularly to support local places even if could do things cheaper at home!

Re: Happy St George's Day to All
Well my hospital canteen looked a little like a BNP meeting today when I walked in! ;) Noticed Foxes had a "free sausages and mash whilst stocks last" sign out this morning so think they are definately celebrating it in some way shape or form. Only been in twice but friendly enough, decent...

Re: Mayow Park Café Operators Announced!
That all sounds so great and promising. Will have to visit mayow park soon! Have been popping round the different green areas since moving in (I'm lucky enough Syd wells park is a few mins walk round the corner). I feel very lucky to be in an area so abundant with lovely green spaces. Been to Brown ...

Exciting new kirkdale developments?
161 kirkdale (See3 shop which was host to aga's pop-up cafe and lovely raclette nights) has a planning application sign for "food connects ltd" to sell "premium/craft alcohol" inside and out. Would have posted pic but don't know how to! Also couple of doors down (opposite piano s...

Re: Sydenham Monthly Market this Saturday
I think a pretty good simple benchmark would be would you return? I understand people want an event that is well promoted for people to come from nearby areas rather then just sydenham (as previously stated by a poster) but I think it's more important to get the layout and mix of stalls right first....

Re: Sydenham Monthly Market this Saturday
Not sure what I was expecting but I guess I was thinking (or maybe for personal reasons, hoping!) there would be much more in the way of food/drink stalls. In terms of going to grab lunch and look around etc, there was only "hanks" as a standout food stall for a lunch option (rather then t...

Re: Sydenham Monthly Market this Saturday
Agreed G-man, also the 2 accompanying people dressed for it also I imagine would make some assume all the stalls there may be of a similar ilk and less inclined for a spy. REcommendations for those looking for a bite whilst perusing!: Hanks for a delicious po boy on Queensthorpe Number 4 for tasty t...

And there I was thinking the beautiful signs had already been completed. Seen the man responsible adding to/finishing up the signs with some lovely colours, patterns and small images.
Wonderful stuff.

Will endeavour to make it though want to shop at the monthly market.. Any idea of finish time or whether it would be ok to volunteer from say the afternoon as opposed to 10.30 start?

Re: Beautiful new painted signs in Kirkdale
I was so excited I dragged my girlfriend to see the signs unecessarily. If I can be honest I love sydenham and forest hill (being almost equally between them) and moved here for those reasons (rather then Kirkdale is what I'm saying) and feel both offer a loads in different ways - I just so happen t...
