Re: Beautiful new painted signs in Kirkdale

Signs plural?! Woohoo it's gonna be like Pokemon - gotta catch em all. I've only seen the wonderful sign opposite Wooster and stock - thought maybe it had been there for an age and I was going mental, thankfully a few sensible thinking people put me in my place. Hopefully will spot the other/s over ...

Have I gone mental?

Can someone just confirm or deny something for me.. I noticed a lovely wall painted signage saying "kirkdale high street" on the way to work this morning on the side of a house opposite Wooster and stock (Halifax Street I think). Has this always been here and I'm the least observant person...

Re: Pilates class in Sydenham?

I go (or at least try to!) twice a week at forest hill pools not too far from kirkdale corner. I find the classes a pretty good workout and although fairly full on the instructor that I've experienced is pretty helpful. The classes off the top of my head are Monday 8pm, Thursday 6pm, Friday 8.30pm a...

Re: Hideous new addition to Sydenham. I pay not.

Rob - I'd recommend maybe, a mentioned, some promotion either online or otherwise (posters?) in local areas as although still relatively new to the area I can't remember seeing a tattoo shop in forest hill or crystal palace and posting in their respective forums or postering where allowed in local c...

Re: The Windmill has closed down

I only moved here in mid feb so unfortunately have never been in the windmill.. Therefore I can only assume what the layout may have been like - if it may be considered a community hub building (or whatever fancy documentation/label it is) is there any option of it being something different/apprecia...

Re: Sydenham welcomes Tattoo Shop

Just thought would copy and paste my reply to the other thread as it's positive and feels more at home here :) Congratulations rob. The place looks real smart - particularly enjoying the signage and windows. Assume be nicer/easier to do a life-drawing class with a local artist leading the way but on...

Re: Sydenham Film Club presents Stories We Tell

Just enjoyed my first sydenham film club.. Great choice of film, exceptionally welcoming patrons and overall a very enjoyable, lovely evening.

Many thanks to all involved and I highly recommend getting involved if haven't already and have an interest in watching decent movies :)

Re: Badminton club in Sydenham

I emailed the lady on the thread who kindly and promptly replies with the followin info: Britannic House Badminton Club plays at Sydenham School on Tuesday 8 to 10pm. We are a small club of 12 men and 6 ladies of various standards. The men have very good close games. We do not play in any leagues. O...

Re: Microbrewery - tomorrow, one night only!

Went along yesterday. Lovely little place the nursery (cracking cake!) and as per beer rebellion good beer and burgers :) did have a cheeky sydenham chat with the guy who said in quite a general way that they are looking for venues and would like to do one in sydenham perhaps with the general issue ...

Just read this in time and subsequently cancelled all plans on Saturday to go visit. Housewarming plant, heartwarming ale and hand warming burgers on the menu woohoo. Thanks for the heads up :) ! Indeed I would love to see these guys setup shop in sydenham. Don't think it's too far fetched either as...

Shout out to Syds Vintage, Billings and fresh n fruity

Just wanted to give a little shout out (cos it's always nice to get some good feeds bl!).. Syds vintage - I walk past going to and from work and it always makes me smile a bit how beautifully done up the window is, changing pretty much daily and fashioned in a lovely way. I know nothing about fashio...
