Re: Thinking of moving to Sydenham...please help
Hi Poppygirl I agree with much that's been posted that's positive about Sydenham. We love living south of the river, it is calmer and greener than the north, we feel anyway. I certainly wouldn't disregard 'central' Sydenham, even the south side (between the high street and Penge East station) has so...

Traders' Association for central Sydenham
It is brilliant that the shops on upper Kirkdale are getting together to breathe some life into that part of Sydenham! It would be really good if we could get the good quality traders in central Syd to get together and do the same. There are some great businesses here but I don't know how linked up ...

Re: 140 INTERIORS OPENING 5TH MARCH
The shop is great. I couldn't resist buying something from there myself! When I was there there was a range of quite sought after mid-century pieces and newer stuff. They even had an enormous mirror made up of lots of individual stone-shaped mirrors, which I am pretty sure is (or was) stocked by Hea...

Re: Vote For Kirkdale Village Logo
What ever happened Lee to the logo for Sydenham idea? I noticed recently that Honor Oak had a nice sign (which looks very non-council) with a tree saying 'Welcome to Honor Oak Park'. We really could do with these at various places like at Westwood hill near the traffic lights, top of Kirkdale, near ...

Re: WHAT IF no15: House of Linens
Just thought I should let you know that it was unlikely they would take out or want to spend money changing the colour of the metal shop front. In case you did not know it was new. Hence why the brown What If might get a better response from the owner!

Re: WHAT IF no15: House of Linens
I'm pretty sure Lee that they only recently put in that brown shop front so not sure if that can be changed or if they will even want to given the expense.

Re: WHAT IF no15: House of Linens
I am not sure, with this one. Think I prefer the last one. I have always thought that one of main problems with their shop is their window display. The vast amount of net curtains in the window and the fact they often have it piled up with tea towels and other not particularly pretty wares. They do ...

I really like 1b. Looks crisp and fresh. I do also like the shutter on the last one. I don't know if you could combine the two some how or would it be too busy?

Another estate agent
Has anyone noticed that Peddars estate agents has taken over the old (HSBC?) bank, opposite Lloyds. They are working on it at the moment. That will be the second in a month as the old George Proctors opposite has recently reopened as another estate agents! Does this mean Sydenham is or is about to b...

Re: Greyhound to be run by owners of East Dulwich Tavern, et
I think you are being a bit harsh about the Dolphin! We have been so lucky to have it here for the past four or so years. The alternative for us was Forest Hill or East Dulwich to go for a 'local' drink. It's not perfect and their food is hit and miss but I found the service pretty good generally. T...

Woman stabbed in Crystal Palace Park
I can't see this on the forum anywhere. Thought you should all know, this was apparently an unprovoked attack at 10am in the morning.

Re: Christmas late night shopping Sydenham, Friday 3rd Decem
Hi there Did anyone consider inviting Candessa or Heavenly Presents to join in? Candessa is one of the better looking businesses on the high street and I am sure they could do with the trade. And Heavenly Presents is surprisingly good, they stock Gisella Graham stuff and things you can find in gifts...

Re: Have you bought your fish this week?
A good chippy is definitely urgently required. :D Preferably one you can sit in, along the Sea Cow in East Dulwich model - and child friendly, please, which means lots of room to manoeuvre a buggy and sit comfortably with young children. I am sorry to say that I rarely go to the cafes in Sydenham to...

Re: Sydenham Farmer's Market...??
When I heard about the Penge relaunch I contacted the organisation involved and suggested Sydenham. I also recommended the top of Venner Road as it is closed off and is directly opposite Sydenham. I had no response, it was ages ago though. Maybe if others did the same they might consider it....

Re: Street drinking in Lewisham consultation
As far as I recall, other parts of the borough had some sort of ban, will these still be in place or will they be removed and all areas subject to the same rules? I think if this is not the case we will still get street drinkers from other areas coming to Sydenham because they might see it as a soft...
