I think it would be wrong to recommend a Jack Russell in this circumstance. Apparently a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that their small size makes them suitable for small spaces, etc. I have heard from the experts that they actually need a lot of excercise and and if they don't get it t...

Small dogs
Have you thought of going to Battersea dogs home and seeing the dogs there? The staff are very knowlegable about the animals that they have. I think that dogs that are a mixture of breeds are sometimes nicer dogs than 'pure' bred dogs and are less temperamental and generally healthier.

Dogs and their owners
The most worrying thing I ever encountered was a person who wouldn't let me stroke their dog because they were trying to train it to hate people and be aggressive (it wasn't). There are also people out there who pathetically think they need the 'protection' of an aggressive looking dog, (usually the...

I had a full structural survey on one property and a homebuyers report on another and would agree that its probably best to go for the full structural survey just in case. However this is despite the fact that I actually found that the full structural wasn't that much more in-depth than the homebuye...

I don't seem able to vote. Do you have to click something? Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Am I just a bit special?

Knighton- I think the appreciation society has gone to your head! I sometimes agree with your point of view and somtimes not. But you do come across as a bit pompous in this post. Who are you to tell people what they should be offended by? Is that a personal attack or just my point of view? Please l...

Sydenham Heroes
I have only lived in Sydenham for a few months but I love it. I like the variety of housing and people and I love the parks and woodland. It seems to me that there is more of a sense of community here than other areas of London that I have lived in.

Middle class hippies etc.
So is it okay for working-class crystal-loving hippies? I suppose its only acceptable to slag off the middle-class ones. Or is everything working class people do perfect and beyond criticism?

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a veggie myself but I 'm sure that its probably a morally superior way to be. I tried it once but got ill. Though that might've been somthing to do with the fact that I only ate baked potato with cheese on for a whole year. Incidentally I read a small article in the free 'metr...

Fried pigeon shop
Did anyone else see the bbc news report this evening about how all the Amazonian rainforests are being cut down to grow soya for feeding chickens that we eat over here? If you didn't you can check it out at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/default.stm# Go to the bit about the Amazon expedition and c...

fried pigeon shop
Ok, fair enough. A fast food shop could be quite handy, so If it has to be food, then any other kind of food other than fried chicken, maybe a kebab shop or another fish and chip shop or a cafe. A shop that happened to sell fried chicken along with other more edible types for food would be fine by me.

Well as you say, it seems that its going to happen anyway, but I just can't see why you're bothering to defend it, especially if you're not planning on eating there. Since there's already a chicken shop nearby I fail to see how its 'something different' but there you go, obviously someone thinks its...

Fried pigeon shop
When I say kids I am mostly talking about teenagers. They are usually the main customers of fried chicken shops – they certainly have enough money to buy the food there - if not then I expect the whole enterprise will go down the drain rapidly.

Leaf - Its fine for you to say don't eat there if you don't like it, but the fact is its mostly going to be kids eating the stuff and they aren't in a position to have much of a choice in the matter. I think we should be protecting kids from unhealthy foods, but if it's there they're gonna eat it. I...
