Re: Children's Home - Newlands Park

About 1958-9 I can remember my mother taking me to a nursery in the house you are talking about. It had a playground at the back and was called The Cherry Tree.

I'm afraid Falkor that your photo is of the embankment further along the line closer to Nunhead where the line crossed, I believe, Brockley way. If you were to travel along Wood Vale towards Forest Hill road, Langton Rise is on the right where the Moor Park Hotel is, or was (converted into some flat...

High level railway route

OK, so we know that the railway crossed London road at the junction of Sydenam Hill and ran parallel with Wood Vale until it crossed Forest Hill road and along Brenchley Gardens toward Nunhead, BUT; halfway along Wood Vale is Langton Rise which would traverse the railway line. My question is; was th...

I am sure that, on a previous post, Falkor posted a picture of a cinema that stood on the site where the petrol station is in Bromley road towards Downham way.

I doubt that Honda will be able to replace the locking nut key. I would definitely recommend having the existing lock nuts removed by a reputable company. With the correct tools it should not be a problem. Try Mech-Weld, 0208 690 5259. Ask for Phil or Martin.

Great news. In the sixties my Dad took me to most of the meetings, saw all the Greats. Using the old path circuit will still be exciting, even on a timed basis.

It's a well known fact that Robert Elms finds the Beatles extremely unpalatable. To present him with any Beatles ephemera would be to wind him up! Personally I find him a self-righteous, obnoxious t**t - not unlike someone on this website !!

Hello Terry, I always enjoy reading your posts and I too have some stereo slides of the palace which I will download- once I work out how to do it. What amazes is me is the sheer scale of replicating these statues from the originals, I assume, using plaster casts. Some statues are very intricate and...

I remember seeing the Beach Boys at the Bowl in 1972 and thinking to myself "God, if only Hendrix was alive". By the way, Spirit in the sky was originally by Norman Greenbaum and was a number one hit in the UK in 1970.
