Re: Power cuts

We had a power in the Perry Rise area on Sunday morning at about 3:30am. Alarms going off all round the area. I checked the UK Power website and it said there's been a short circuit in Forest Hill and they expected to have it fixed by 5:30am. Makes me wonder if it's really the weather or if they are...

Re: Zanzibar- Licence revoked

Tudor Livesey Hall? Interesting. I live near there and we have constant events, which results in patrons parking on pavements, double yellow lines, bus stops, filling the residential streets... Anything except using the large empty car park on the shopping estate nearby. Have tried contacting the co...

Re: Parking problems

The 'rights' of the commuters are served by creating good and convenient public transport links so they are not tempted to drive and park to a station some distance from their home. It's especially stupid in Sydenham of all places where there is a huge car park a 5 minute walk from the station. The...

They are bringing it in here in Lewisham.

Never heard of Liberty GB before.

But a quick look at their website indicates they're just another bunch of racists.

Re: New World Record Attempt in Sydenham Rd Sun 8 March!

I went to see this. Books were laid out on the edge of the pavement. Gaps were left where the bus stops and crossing and side roads were, until around 11, when the side roads were closed for about 10 minutes, and the gaps were filled in by teams posted up and down the road. Didn't notice much conges...

Re: Fire at Copperfield on Catford Bridge

MARCH 2ND 2015. UPDATE Last night, the fire brigade attended a fire at The Catford Bridge Tavern. The fire was extinguished and no-one was hurt. The LFB web site notes that they weren't treating the incident as suspicious. Everyone working on restoring the pub is pleased that no-one was injured in ...

Re: SUNNYDENE BUS STOP

Surely it is the authorities intention to slow up private vehicles. By doing this they hope to discourage people in built up areas from taking to their cars when they need not, As far as I am aware this has been policy for years. Not working very well is it? Just ban anyone who can't reverse or par...

Re: SUNNYDENE BUS STOP

As a by-product of the layout being implemented pedestrians get a wide pavement - hence minimising the obstruction of families with buggies having to squeeze past a bus queue - as they have to do higher up the road and a central reservation to help cross the road. Looking back in time on google map...

Re: SUNNYDENE BUS STOP

But what if another bus wants to get past folks? Or a cyclist is impeded by the queuing traffic? Or an electric car has to queue? Or an ambulance or fire engine gets delayed by a few minutes? Or a pedestrian doing their bit for the environment gets knocked down by a car because they are obscured by ...

Re: RIP DYLON FACTORY

Back in 2009, they were granted permission to build 149 on appeal.

Everything now seems to be about planning or 'building A03' whatever that is.

I think they may be trying to cram in an extra 74 residential units in place of the office space they originally got planning for.
