Noise from Crystal Palace festival
This seems to have been going on all day. I can still hear it, even though I am a mile from the park and it is 11pm. This is really very unfair and inconsiderate. Does the music need to be so loud? It must be quite literally deafening by the stage.

Sydenham cars
Just wanted to share a positive experience with Sydenham cars last night. Thanks to the French air traffic controllers going on strike my flight was delayed. The official cab company at Gatwick took my order and then cancelled on me but Sydenham cars saved the day! They were cheaper and gave a very ...

Re: Remember to vote today
I suppose the one thing about living in a totally safe seat is that you can vote according to your beliefs. You don't need to hold your nose and vote for a party you don't like to prevent the one you really hate getting in.
However, it also does feel like a rather expensive charade.

Remember to vote today
Pretty much a certainty that Labour will take the council seats and the mayor but please do get out and cast your vote whatever your political persuasion.

What is 400 rabbits? Are we going to be facing some sort of carrot and lettuce shortage in Sydenham?

Points failure at New Cross Gate
All trains are cancelled today. This is a Network Rail issue - a points failure at New Cross this time. This has been about five days in a row that my commute has been significantly disrupted. Each time a different excuse. I had to take a cab home on Monday night at significant expense. How much lon...

Peak hill avenue street party
Anyone else being disrupted by the noise from this event? Their sound system is way too loud. I can hear it with my double glazing shut and I am quite far away. All for a neighbourly get together (and this is only an annual thing) but don't see the need for such a loud sound system, especially so la...

Re: Late night noise on Kirkdale Sunday night (Zanzibar?)
I heard a lot of yelling coming from the area around the petrol station forecourt on Kirkdale around midnight. Sounded like some guy and his girlfriend having a yelling match. Went on for at least half an hour.

Re: Zanzibar Licence Review
Hello Duwayne, Welcome to the forums. It may be the case that the club owners are not legally liable for the behaviour of their patrons when they leave the club but the fact remains that the only reason we have quite extreme levels of antisocial behaviour in the area is because of the club. If it wa...

Re: Zanzibar Licence Review
If anyone is interested the decision to restrict hours until 2am at the weekends was almost unanimous. The only dissenting councillor was the Lib Dem mayoral candidate Duwayne Brooks who voted for Zanzibar to remain open until 5am for reasons best known unto himself. Something to keep in mind when t...
