Re: Budgens

Poppy,

You could try using the Sainsbury's Local behind the Windmill pub, it will have some items that the others do not and I find it the most pleasant shopping experience of all the local food shops.

Re: Budgens

Sad news for those employees of the local Budgens.

Would be nice for it to remain as a food retail outlet, but it doesn't look good.

Origin Broadband?

Anybody in Sydenham using Origin Broadband as their broadband supplier? I am thinking of switching from Sky and would like to know what download speeds users in the area may be getting. I am not talking fibre-optic broad just the bog standard broadband. Thanks.

Re: Carpets

I used MW Flooring last summer for three carpets. I paid just £15.00 for an offcut for my small communal entrance hall and they sourced a carpet that I chose, having found it on the internet, that they did not stock. Dave who works at the shop was very helpful and the two guys who fitted the carpets...

Re: Estate Agent's Boards

I agree with Nigel. Just take them down. Acorn put a board up a while back outside my property, my neighbour's flat downstairs is let and they are the agent. The flat is a long lease and the current tenants have been in residence for about 7 years. I immediately took it down, I need some timber for ...

Re: Co-operative Food store to rebrand as a Budgens store

Many thanks for your request that we again have a Co-op store in the SE26 postal district. If you have any suggestions of properties in this area which you feel could become Co-op food stores, please reply to this email with full details of these properties. I'll then forward this information to ou...

Re: Sydenham DIY

Couldn't agree with previous posters more. Always helpful, will order what you want if they don't have it, will delivery large items if necessary, and their prices are often lower than the large DIY stores.

Re: Fairlawn Park

As someone who posted about antisocial behaviour on Fairlawn Park some years ago I am happy to say that I have not been aware of any problems in recent years. It's a very nice street on which to bring up a young family. Where I live, at the top of the street, there are a good number of families with...

roofer/builder?

I have an issue with some water marks at the edges of some of my ceilings. I cannot tell whether it's being caused by problems with the guttering, pointing, lead flashing, a combination of these, or something else and need a roofer/builder to come take a look and diagnose the problem. If anybody has...

Re: New to Sydenham - street questions

I too live on Fairlawn Park (at the top near the allotments) and have done so for 12 years. I was aware some years ago of antisocial behaviour by some younger residents of the street, but I must say I have not been aware of any issues in recent years, at least at the top end of the street. I wouldn'...

Fairlawn Park Loft Conversion

Has anybody in Fairlawn Park had a dormer loft conversion, or a quote for a dormer loft conversion, recently? If so, what was the cost? I'm in the process of buying the freehold to my property and need to find out what value, if any, a one bedroom dormer loft conversion would add to the property. Fo...

Re: The two half's is under offer

One of the first ideas for improving home park (with the consulation people chose the outdoor gym), was to have table tennis tables and large chequer board for people (kids and adults) to play chess or draughts. Caught the 18.34 from London Bridge to Sydenham. Left on time and (I think) arrived on time. No more busy than usual.
