How do you know if a drive is legal or not?
The row of houses where I live were all built with drive ways, but I'm not sure the kerbs have been dropped, they don't seem to be, however the kerbs are so low you can drive over them anyway. Is there anywhere to check if a particular drive is legal?

Forest Hill Pool featured on the BBC local breakfast news this morning. It reports that Lewisham Council had decided to demilosh the pool rather than restore it, as it would be too expensive.

Shame. :(

Scott, what part of Venner Road did this incident happen? I live in Venner Road and have in the past had my vehicle damaged by a dust cart. I don't believe these types of accidents happen because of the amount cars parked, it's purely bad driving skills and lack of consideration by other road users....

They're not all leaving.
I'm in the midst of preparing my house to rent to a very nice young Polish couple with a young boy!
Syd ; rather than pay for lessons, maybe you could arrange a regular meet with some local Polish people and ask them to teach you!

Hola Amigo, I've been learning Spanish for a number of years, but fortunately i get lessons at work. I had a look around the Sydenham area for classes. I tried a school in Beckenham, that did evening classes, but I only lasted one term as I found the teachers methods not suitable to me. You could tr...

Mrs Zackerwitch was still at Sydenham in 1985 which was about the time I left. We weren't allowed to wear mini skirts or make-up. The girls would fear her, as she demanded the upmost respect. Shame we don't have more of that in our schools today.

I don't remember any particular fete.
But do remember when Sydenham used to have a type of carnival with floats and stuff. I think it centered around Wells Park. That would have been int the 80's.

My sister had a Saturday job in the shoe shop, that it now Slatters Bakery.
She then moved onto Boots and I took over her job there when she left school.

Gosh ... I remember the Saxon .. during the 80's. They used to have disco's there. I freind of mine set me up on a blind date once there. I never forgave her, his faced was covered in safety pins, he wore more make-up than I did and had the most awful green spiky hair. Had lots of good evenings ther...

Can't believe anyone living in Sydenham is really affect by aircraft noise. Surely road traffic noise is far more of a problem. The only aircraft which has ever affected Sydenham was Concorde, which we've now lost. Living in an inner city area, maybe it's something we just have to learn to live with...

There have been lots of posts regarding the 'state' of our high street, and the amount of pound shops ect. But there is obviously a call for them, otherwise they wouldn't thrive. What concerns me more is that people aim their frustrations towards the brave souls who plough their hard earn cash into ...

wise move I say. I don't know people in Brockley cope with their daily train journeys. I never get stressed out about rail travel, It's not worth getting uptight over, but then my boss doesn't throw a hissy fit if I'm late. But if I travelled from Brockley every day, I think I'd go mad. They put up ...

You must be joking??
In my 20 years of commuting into London Bridge. Not once has a ticket inspector been on a train between 7-9am.
If I lived in Brockley I'd get a train back to at least Forest Hill, at least they're more likely to get on the train, which they're not at Brockley.
