Fabulous design.
That mock up is exactly what the street needs. Can you redesign the whole street? I want it done by the time I get home. So I can pop into the Deli on the way home !!!

I think I'll pop in this evening. I'm all excited. That can't be right - all pleased about a 'Tescos' opening. Jesus! What has Sydenham done to my soul???? Anyway - you're right - it might make the rest up their game. Good old Blue Mountain still a (slightly overpriced) pleasure to read a paper and ...

A friend gave me a lift home from work the other day and hadn't been to Sydenham before, and as we drove down Mayow Road and around Silverdale .. Dacres Road etc. she remarked, 'ooh it's posh round here - what a nice part of town'. And I smiled (because I live in Sydenham), but, seeing it through he...

That was quite amusing nork1. Can't beat a little bit of sarcasm! I actually quite like the Hob. I'm not a big fan of TVs in pubs - they're really distracting; although I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'll watch my favourite team if their on. But, still, I think they're a pain for those that aren't...

There's a bar called Jam Circus in Brockley (Brockley Road or Rise) which is exactly the sort of bar the Greyhound should be. Nice leather sofas, 'chilled' atmosphere, nice food ... perfect complement to the Dolphin at the other end of the high street. People who like TVs and Juke Boxes and things c...

Yes much better. Little bit of effort and thought goes a long way. Felt a little bit more like the East Dulwich one.

It's no surprise all the sh*te shops are closing. Sydenham has to wake up to the fact that its audience is changing. They relentlessly fill our highstreet with too many crappy stores (and I love a good pound shop once in a while) and then, lo and behold, they shut down because people don't want thos...

yes me too. When it says "I am sorry for the delay to your journey ..." I always shout back "no you're not". Yes! I communicate aggressively with a loud speaker system. Which unfortunately makes me sound like a mentalist to the other passengers. But it is so annoying.

I don't agree with all of Greg Whitehead's postings - but I agree totally with his sentiments expressed in his letter. We can't allow these pocket sized petitioners to spoil any chance of a Sydenham Road upgrade. The demographic has changed/is changing the 'tube' is coming and we need to reject anyb...

I have to say though I was concerned about the East London/tube/overland when I heard about the cuts last night ... but that is still going ahead and Boris said that [East London Line extension] remains a priority. So from a purely 'Sydenham' perspective I think we got away with that one. I was reli...

Mayow Park is pretty much a Sydenham park but if we can get money for it under the name of Forest Hill then: brilliant. Guess it's opposite where Silverdale 'turns into' Dacres Road. It's actually a really nice space. It could do with a little coffee shop for mums, park strollers and people throwing...

Is it me or ...

Is there a strange smell wafting around Sydenham in the mornings and evenings. Kind of like TCP or disinfectent/hospital corridor type odour or something similar.

Has anyone else noticed it?
Or is it just me?
Weird.

It's been said before but there are quite a few dingy real ale places that already serve that market. And I love a pint of real Ale myself - but it was a sunny evening and the Jam Circus had its huge windows open and it looked really inviting ... so: really good if there is one coming to Sydenham.
