Re: Water supply problems in upper Sydenham

I have just spoken to the Thames Water guys working in Westwood Hill. They anticipate the water will be back on what is a widely affected area by 6pm - earlier if they possibly can.

Re: KIRKDALE HIGH STREET CONSULTATION

Thanks, Rachel - your reading of my posting was correct. To reiterate. The February meeting was a pre-feasibility meeting to which some local residents and traders were invited to discuss and identify the current problems with using Kirkdale High Street. The job of the transport officers and street ...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

The Head of Planning confirms that Lewisham has received the application for the conservatory and external stairs. They will seek to deal with this urgently whilst, at the same time, seeking to ensure that all parties have been engaged in the detail and had the opportunity to contribute their views....

Re: Bridge House Theatre (upstairs at Bridge House Tavern)

I went to the last performance on Sunday and couldn't agree more. With the Brockley Jack Studio, a recognised "Offie", and the Bridge House Theatre we are well served by local buses with easy to get to venues. Add the recently opened East Dulwich Picturehouse (3-screens) which is only 20 m...

Re: 176 and 197 bus on diversion?

It's interesting that the sewer works on the railway bridge has not been mentioned on this forum. For anyone interested, I stopped to ask the Thames Water guys what was going on about 10 days ago and got the following information. There has been the danger of a collapsed sewer under the railway line...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

News just received from Lewisham Council: A brief update on the current position. The Council's Legal Services team yesterday wrote to Purelake advising that unless they can provide by return, a full explanation as to why this further delay is essential and was unexpected and unavoidable, together w...

Obviously everyone is standing by on tenterhooks awaiting the arrival of workmen on site, which was understood to be the week beginning 13 April, this week. Also due to be submitted on the Tuesday after Easter was a planning application to Lewisham for a variation to the 2010 permission, allowing fo...

Re: Late Knights..coming soon?

How about 5 and 7 Kent House Road? No. 5 was a SEE3 Pop up shop but had no loo - so no great future as a retail unit on its own. However no.7 next door is empty - with the lovely ghost-sign "Steptoes" above the fascia. Long time, no trade - the interior should be interesting... Loo? Or no ...

Re: Walking to/from Longton Grove - safe at night?

To add my two-pennyworth. I've lived in Longton Grove for over 20 years and it's a great area to live in. It's in inner London - and there are the odd incidents, but I've never felt threatened and frequently walk home on my own at night having been to the theatre. Over the past twelve months new whi...

Or should I say -

After all the delays let's not anyone get it wrong again. More haste, less speed. What's another few weeks for Lewisham to ensure no further breaches of the 2010 planning permission occur?
