I saw on the Sydenham facebook group that someone spoke to their postman and he said a lot were off either with covid or connections to people with covid so they are a bit short staffed at the moment.
I'm on Anerely Road Penge and have been getting post this week.

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab
I've booked my booster but Sydenham Green (Where I had my first two jabs) was not an option (I'm also with Wells Park). So it's at Our Lady & St Philip Neris school instead on a Saturday. Last time round, where you were offered depended on how you booked. Sydenham Green was never an option on t...

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab
I'm due to move flat in November, but I am going to stay with my GP in Sydenham until I get my booster so it does not get any potential delay. I'm only moving to Anerley so not a big deal. If anyone has any GP recommendations in the Anerley area (Near the Aldi on Anerley/Croydon Road) please do spea...

Free Flu jabs were always limited by age. It used to be 65 and over, it was reduced to 50+ last year due to covid.Jollylolly wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021 12:18 Touchwood only offering flu jab to over 50s at the mo, or so I was told. I got mine at boots though

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab
Glad that I am hearing reports of local people on the vulnerable list are being given appointments for the booster injection. It would seem that appointments are being used to "double-up" and do the flu vaccine at the same visit. Good news. My chemist offered me the flu jab two weeks ago ...

Re: Reduced Southern service
I used to use the Victoria train to get to work via Clapham Junction to North West London, it meant my journey to work avoided the expensive Zone 1. Now I would have to use the London Overground in the opposite direction adn go through zone 1, doubling the cost of the journey. I am working from home...

Re: What do you think about The Golden Lion?
As an ex public house licensee.... reading the above comments reminds me very much of an ethos I lived by when running pubs. 1. Clean the lager lines every two weeks 2. Clean the real ale lines every other barrel change at most, every barrel change even better. The yeast build up on the lines with a...

Re: kinleigh folkard & hayward
I walked past this morning & it’s finally open with actual real life people working!!! Wait until they notice that in heavy rain, the drain outside overflows and when buses go past the water gets pushed right up a few cm's above the bottom of their front door and will likely go inside. Every si...

PSA- Post Office Cashpoint
Posted on the Sydehham Facebook page 3 hourts ago:-
Beware of the post office cashpoint on the High Street. Someone has put a device on it to stop your cash coming out. Managed to wrestle by notes out before they got retained but don't use it. Will report it to the police

Re: Police crack down on e-scooters
The problem here is that the police will get it in the neck whatever they do. When they run crackdowns on drivers with no insurance for example (and cars are confiscated and crushed for such an offence), people will cry out for action on e-scooters. And vice versa. It bothers me that everything on ...

Re: Masks after 19th
Hi all, just wondering if anyone plans to keep wearing a mask after “freedom day” In high populated places like public transport, busy shops etc I probably will. I'd rather not risk catching something and passing it on to my aged mother when I take her food shopping each week. Whilst we are both do...

Astrazeneca Jab at Sydenham Green
If like me, you got your jab in March at Sydenham Green, you may want to check the batch number on your card. It appears that some batches, whilst effective, were produced by a company in India that do not have an EU license so some European countries wont allow you to travel across it's borders. Fu...
