Debit card found in Jews Walk

If you have lost a Barclays debit card and your surname starts with an 'M' it was found this morning in Jews Walk. You can contact me by private message. I did try and phone Barclays lost/stolen card number but having to go through various menus and then trying to convince an extremely dumb computer...

My grandson played for Dulwich United in Dulwich Park. Ages 8-11 copes with all abilities.

Re: Masks (again!)

Repeated my trip to the Royal Opera last night. Shocked that on our Overground carriage only 20/30% mask compliant. A little better on District Line. More shocking was the Opera House. 99% had slipped to about 70% despite repeated requests. Even more shocking was the HIGHEST compliance of the day sh...

Re: Masks (again!)

I wonder if Covent Garden was full of tourists? Sorry, I was referring to the Opera House. I am limiting myself to places where one can expect both the organisers and audiences to be taking care. So my outings tend to be places like the Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall. I'm really missing venue...

Re: Masks (again!)

I'll be following the science.

Went to Covent Garden this afternoon. Spotted 2 out of 2,000 not wearing masks. Couldn't say the same for the train journeys. Why can we have 99.9% compliance in one place and flagrant disregard of science, the current law and vulnerable people in others?

Re: Mail

We have had at least two deliveries this week from our normal postie. Today I received this from Royal Mail Updates: We're pleased to confirm, the resourcing issues reported at the Sydenham Delivery Office have improved, and services are now recovering. I guess SDO was one of the first to be hit by ...

I have the greatest sympathy for those impacted by this problem, Almost all the visible road & pavement markings visible are on bits that have been repaired lately. No money is obviously being spent anywhere on markings. I almost have sympathy for the council. Slashed budgets with the overwhelmi...

Re: Mail

We got our first delivery of the year with first class post dating back to 21/12. The Sydenham DO has been reduced to a rump by Omicron and there is a report on SE23.life that they are not accepting incoming mail which is being held at the Croydon regional centre. They are, quite rightly, prioritisi...

Ongoing with Omicron. Plus not just SDO but all our neighbours to the north: https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/19826581...

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab

Went for a booster at Sydenham Green yesterday - appointments only - so efficient that we barely saw anyone else there the whole time. In - get jabbed - out - and that's it. No waiting around for 15 minutes, or anything, unless you feel so inclined. I was planning to take a relative for a walk-in j...

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab

Yes. I'm getting reports of local positive cases which supports this. As for flu - if folks follow Chris Witty's advice rather than Boris then the greater social distancing will be even more effective in stopping flu than mitigating Omicron. I had my flu jab at Kirkdale Touchwood back in October. It...

Forest Hill. It was merged with FHDO some years ago. It's off the Perry Vale car park. Opening times are on the failed delivery red card. Without that I wouldn't have much hope.

Yes with knobs on. It was lethal, now quite pleasant apart from the petty vandalism of the barriers.

Julia,

What plans do you have for the gyratory and Southend Lane to encourage cycling to the retail park as opposed to the cemetery?

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab

Yesterday both my partner and I received letters from the NHS reminding us to have our booster shots as our records show we hadn't - and to expect more texts and phone calls to encourage us. Very good effort - except we both had them more than a month ago - at Guys. Which makes one suspicious of the...
