Re: Texts from Sarah/Emma

that's a good site thanks for the link.

I had a call this week from a insurance company asking about if I wanted to take my car accident further, er what accident? promptly hung up but they came up on this site as a persistent scam caller so blocked their number.

Re: Lower Sydenham station - safe to walk at night?

Is it safe? Probably as safe as any streets off the highstreet. Do I feel safe walking home at night? No not all, its not well lit, seen plenty of cars broken into, plenty of cover to get mugged in near the station. In 5 years I've not seen any trouble either. I have noticed a big increase in passen...

Re: Local Damp Survey Company

Yes that's exactly what I'm interested in, if you dont fix the cause then it will just re-occur. Has anyone used an independent damp surveyor? I get the cynical feeling its all in their interests to tell you there's lots of work that needs doing. Reading threads like this about Kenwood made me pause...

Local Damp Survey Company

We've had an issue with our Kitchen electrics being damaged by damp. Had a socket replaced and another blew up as it was being done. Not good. We had Kenwood take a look but want to get a second opinion/quote to try and identify the root problem before we have to rip the kitchen out and rewire. I'm ...

Re: Golden Lion pub

Seems to be trying to square up to the Dolphin so I think food will make it or break it. I tried it the other night, like some others said its okay, interior is pretty nice. Terrible constant 80's music didn't help, beer wasn't too bad just not much selection. The food in the Dolphin has never been ...

Re: Beer rebellion

Sounds great, one less empty shop, it's right next to the Alfred which is a little odd choice of location maybe. I hope it gets done before the summer is over at least.

Re: Sushi of Sydenham

Went there about a week ago, I think it's a work in progress at the moment as I'm not sure what it wants to be. The food was pretty tasty but I found the presentation a bit strange. I had a Salmon teriyaki don, I have had this in loads of places (including Tokyo), it's usually a box of rice with thi...

Re: Sushi of Sydenham

Thanks for posting, will hopefully try it in the week, looks a great addition to Sydenham! Menu looks good and authentic, mixture of sushi and meats for all tastes, needs a few more Sakes maybe :) couple of things look expensive others quite reasonable compared to Soho prices. http://hibagonsushiand...

Re: Mayow Park - New exercise equipment

Any news if the paths will be resurfaced? Those are in desperate need of repair and quite easy to trip or roll your ankle on. The Gym equipment is welcome and doesn't dominate the peaceful park space, the noise will be drowned out by the kids playground anyway. We should all be trying to be healthie...

Re: Overground - first five carriage train arrives!

Really interesting how fast the passenger counts have risen in the last 4 years and not in the surrounding areas. Having like for like stats in terms of %'s seems better way to understand the issues. From 4 years ago what's the % increase in capacity vs passenger load compared to today? I'm also cur...

No London Bridge Trains at Christmas

From an Email today, going to be (even more) horrific at the Jubilee Line connection at Canada Water with nothing going to London Bridge. "from Saturday 20 December until Sunday 4 January 2015 , there will be engineering work at London Bridge mainline rail station, which will affect some Nation...

Re: Front door- Where to buy?

We used Dawes for Doors about 4 years ago and I wouldn't recommend them, they refused to fix a lock that jammed a month after the fitting which left us out of pocket to get it fixed and locked out of the house, the door has warped and you cant close it without having to use a key. They caused lots o...

Re: Brown and Green (AKA Mayow Park Cafe): Fab!!

Overall its a great addition to the park. Pretty good decor, cricket theme is a nice touch, decent toilets for once in the park as well, I think the community garden will have lots more visitors which is really great it gets used. Couple of niggles I hope they can fix... £2.60 for a Flat White is ju...
