The thread is entitled Middle Class Pubs . I suppose the point I'm making is that the current bunch of pubs in Sydenham cater for the crowd that they attract and seem to do quite well out of it. Great. Just supplant Anonymous High St, Anywhere, UK for Sydenham's shabby, but loveable mish-mash. This is off-topic but how about something for the community proper instead? Somewhere for young pre-pub age people to hang out for example, rather than the Alpha Course place with its dubious doctrines?

By way of an update the Greyhound has now got a new management team, who on the basis of their first week seem to be doing well (in my subjective opinion). I don't imagine they can do anything about the decor (inside or out) except petition the brewery, so I wouldn't hold your breath for that to cha...
