Won't be having loft insulation
I asked in the Wanted section if anyone knew of someone who would come and clear my loft in readiness for free loft insulation - its a govt scheme run by Mark Group if anyone's interested. Anyway I had no replies so I contacted some loft clearance companies. One quoted on the phone 350 gbp (sorry US...
Re: AirBnB
You are very welcome Maria, we do have visitors with family members in the area too. Our house is very handy as a place to come back and relax after a hectic Christmas Day (or whatever the occasion) with the Grandchildren / Nieces and Nephews. People really appreciate a good nights sleep and a lazy ...
Re: AirBnB
I let out rooms via the airbnb platform. From my perspective It is a great way to meet people from all over the world; we've had visitors from as far as Alaska in one direction and Australia in the other and many places in between. I would not be letting my spare rooms permanently if I did not work ...

Re: Curtain/Blind Maker?
Or cut out the middle man and go straight to Justin - 07768733338. He supplies and fits for the shop in Sydenham, we've used him for years and has supplied all our blinds and curtains. I went to him direct when the old guy left the shop in Syd - the chap who is there now specializes in flooring - he...

Re: Update on the Alex pub
I like the idea of the urban rooms to let, they are clean and basic but they are still more expensive than airbnb - with fewer facilities and no breakfast. We'll need to up our prices !

Re: Where the chuff does one start with a new kitchen?
I agree with what Rachael said but also, because kitchens are an expensive and rather permanent feature you need to think about what you want from it. In my case - when I get my next kitchen (which will be some way off I admit, but one can dream) I want everything in my kitchen to be reachable. I ha...

Need a place for family to stay over Christmas?
Just a reminder on behalf of all the Airbnb hosts in our area - we have vacancies. And we're an awful lot cheaper and nicer than any bland hotel.

Re: Christmas shopping - local ideas
Last year everybody in my family (age 8 to 80) got a book from our local bookshop except for my friend Di who loves all things green and veggie - she got goodies from Well Being. Will be doing the same this year.

Do you need a place for your family to stay over Christmas?
Hi, if you need space for family and friends to visit over Christmas, or any other time for that matter, please do check out airbnb.co.uk. There are hosts in this area at really good rates. We have space in our home (one double room and one twin room) up to 29th December - then we have a guy from Au...
