Re: Crystal Palace Park Project: drop-in sessions this Satur

Question 9 says: Do you have any further comments about the proposal? There are only three lines after that question and then about a further 4cm of space below that. Just thought that I would point this out as people attending the meeting who use this forum could print it out and fill it in and put...

Re: Crystal Palace Park Project: drop-in sessions this Satur

I will too. Wondered if it would be too late but it would be bad form if they said that! Question 8 says: How would you like to be engaged with and or consulted about the project? The options are: Drop-in Sessions Public Meetings (Hoping they don't claim that the Drop-in sessions are just that) The ...

Re: Crystal Palace Park Project: drop-in sessions this Satur

Thank you for posting all that info Tim. I just visited the CP Campaign web site and discovered that a questionnaire was handed out at the December drop in: http://www.crystalpalacecampaign.org/ZRA-feedback_questionnaire.pdf Apparently there were not enough of these for everyone. The questions are n...

Re: SYDENHAM'S POCKET PARKS

I would like to see herbs, fruit and some vegetables grown around Sydenham for the people to help themselves to. If this was incorporated on a small scale in each area, people would want to keep an eye on what was growing and locals could be involved in managing it all. http://www.incredible-edible-...

Re: Crystal Palace Park Project: drop-in sessions this Satur

It is good to see so much discussion so early on and it does seem that public consultation is taking place this time. I have serious concerns about the roads and do believe that people will drive here and whilst I am not against a building on the top site I am very much against roads and roundabouts...

Re: German Embassy in Sydenham?

I am now satisfied that this building has never had anything at all to do with the German Embassy. Just still intrigued about the eagle. The way I see it the eagle must have either been original and either Sutton or Bentleys idea, or it may have been added by Theodor Schneider. It does seem that it ...

Re: FB timeline cover images of old Sydenham

Getting a bit silly now! LOL

Here is the Sydenham Common pic on my FB page - The image I used as my profile pic was taken on holiday in Shropshire in 2010 when I dressed up with part of the painting as a background.

Right that REALLY is enough LOL

Re: German Embassy in Sydenham?

Wow tbc!
I see that you only made two posts and will probably not see this but I have so often dreamed that we had the whole floor!

My flat is almost twice the size of the other flat but they are both now 1 bedroom.

FB timeline cover images of old Sydenham

Hi everyone, I just created a Facebook timeline cover image depicting the old Sydenham High Street from some images on Steve Grindlays Flickr photo stream. Thanks Steve :D It is designed with the FB profile image and links that go over the image in mind. Anyone using FB is welcome to take it for the...

Re: German Eagle on 108 Westwood Hill

And the building on Westwood Hill, no. 108, called Sunnydene, was built by William Sutton, described as a "millionaire entrepreneur and a housing philanthropist". His widow continued living there after his death, and by the 1930s the house had been divided into flats. Hi Steve, and everyo...

Re: Support your local French bakery!

I have to admit that I have not yet been to this bakery and I will have a look just as soon as I can. I make my own organic bread and prefer not to eat food that is not organically produced. And yes, I do have allotments even if I don't manage to put in as many hours there as I would like. They may ...

Re: Advice needed re care homes in Sydenham

Thanks so much again Annie for your input. We are considering a place near me or near my brother who lives in Herts. Pointless for her being where she lived in Waltham Forest with it being a trek for both of us to visit her. There are no local community forums near him, or at least if there are I ha...

Re: Advice needed re care homes in Sydenham

Is that at the roundabout at the bottom of Westwood Hill? That's the one I'm considering.
Or is it further along Westwood Hill. I live at the very top of Westwood Hill.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Doctor surgery?

Hi Pingu, I live in Sydenham and use The Vale Medical Centre in SE23

I am generally as happy as I've ever been with a doctors surgery. It isn't very easy to get an appointment but I think that is the case everywhere these days. I would most certainly not describe as a "no go".

Re: Advice needed re care homes in Sydenham

Thanks for that one Swagger! I did a search on google and see what you mean!!! The home I am most considering, Kirkdale Care Centre, is run by Excelcare Holdings and I have searched and there don't seem to be too many damning reports and there are quite a few good ones. I am concerned however that n...
