Adrian, I Fully understand yours and nasarocs's concerns. To answer your question, Planning Law in Sussex differs vastly from that in Lewisham as sites are assesssed in completely different policy context. Sussex is mainly Rural and dictated by different Plan policy than Sydenham. Sydenham ( Lewisha...

Im totally in agreement with your sentiments GillyJp, especially the last paragraph. The statement that "if these plans are rejected nothing will happen for years", is complete rubbish. there are numerous Businesses uses more suited for the site than residential, which is not currently via...

Stand by for the first postings saying that this or that store or restaurant opening up on the site will adversely affect smaller local businesses and should be stopped! Posted by the same people who tell you now that the site is never going to be commercially successful! I have never posted the ab...

Lee, Its speculation as much as any other aspirations for the ultimate occupation for the site is.

Much nearer reality though, I regret to say.

May be the Sydenham Society could ask the Developer ?

The economic reality is, that if these plans are approved the flats will be sold to a Housing Association to rent to lewishams housing waiting list and the shops will remain empty. I dont have a problem with the scheme at all, apart from the financial pressures the developer will be under to dispose...

Sydenham has had "higher expectations " than Penge since I moved here in 1989. Its never acheived it and untill Lewisham supports some proper regeneration of the High Street and not some talk shops for self publiscising Councillors that go no where the status quo will prevail. Penge devlop...

It's speculation, on the basis that Housing Associations are the only people buying or building flats at the moment. We will see...........

I have nothing against Housing Associations but am against creating ghettos, the type of occupation should be mixed and may be it will be.

Also whose going to live in those flats, i bet it will all be bought by a Housing association creating a nice ghetto, i though we were meant to have mixed communities of Private and Affordable homes ?
