CHRISTMAS IS COMING! At 12.15 pm today a Christmas tree was being delivered outside the Post Office - not to Angie's Florist - but for planting in a specially prepared hole in the pavement, courtesy of Lewisham Council (something at long last to say "thank you" for after our year of misery...

Well it's open!

At 6.00 pm tonight there were no barriers to stop pedestrians crossing and later at 9.50 pm it was being used.

So far so good - are our fears regarding safety allayed?

HOT NEWS!!

Sydenham Society has learned that the zebra crossing will be fully operational as from tomorrow.

Presumably it will have passed its Site Safety Audit. We wait to see what additional safety measures have been implemented, if any.
