I still believe a proper, authentic pie and mash shop [original English 'fast food' ] would do the trick. Better than yer ubiquitous chicken shop, GBK, 'Subway' etc... Any body out there of like mind? I used to love going to the pie and mash (and liquer) shop at Borough Market - unfortunatlely this...
I still don't get it. Sandwich? 'Sub'? You really don't need a recipe book to make your own...To your own design, with ingredients carefully chosen and lovingly prepared by yourself. There's no substitute for a DIY sandwich or 'sub'. I think you may be missing their target audience, Trawlerman! Whe...

Can I ask if you had just gotten in when you posted? I managed to get the last train out of dodge (a Catford Bridge line) and then a precarious walk through the ice rinks of Catford home! All in all took about 3 hours. BUT I think I fared slightly better than yourself. Sorry to hear of your travail...

its not as if you have to wait 20 mins for the connection at London bridge !!! I suppose that depends how easy someone finds the schlep from platform 4 to platform 15, especially if loaded up or not able-bodied. Also, we all know how packed the last trains from London Bridge can get, so it's not as...

Gaz: the London Reconnections site explains about the 'Oyster Extension Permits' (which only applies to travelcard holders, not PAYG): Thanks for the link, Blushingsnail. Unfortunately, it simply highlights the complexities and inconsistencies of the OEP! I think I'll merely continue to get a bound...

I was reading some feedback comments on news sites that there is a complication with those who have a Season Ticket Oyster card. They were basically saying that if you wanted to travel outside of your nominated zones you had to queue to buy an Oyster Extension Ticket (or somesuch) as you would no lo...

I think the designs look great and the removal of a storey makes a big difference to the overall aesthetics of the design. I really hope this goes through and gets built now. Page 8 of this (large document!) contains a good illustration: http://acolnet.lewisham.gov.uk/ACOLLATEDOCS/50824_3.pdf All th...

Cuts to Southern trains
I see the mass leafleting campaign at our local stations was in full swing this morning - well done to all involved. And well done Pat for braving the cold by the up platform - I would have stopped to properly say hello but was running (as usual!) for a train (which was late (as usual!)). The Brockl...

Whilst I think it's a shame to lose a such a locally inspired name, I support renaming the Naborhood Centre to something more relevant. I'd like the name to reflect what the Centre is all about; and so while the 'Sydenham Centre' is nice and clean - and does work - perhaps there should be additiona...

Thanks for posting the above, biscuitman. My comments on Southern's email: It's annoyed me the way that Southern are making out that the double amount of trains serving Sydenham is by Southern's design. These are the 8 extra ELL trains - nothing to do with the CUT in the number of Southern trains (....

I too ventured down the High Street this evening and was very impressed with the displays and the passion and knowledge of the two consultants there. Thanks to Pat who displayed the opening times on here. I was also pleased to see that they are actively seeking comments on the (currently underwhelmi...

I'm not too bothered by a 'real ale' but can understand why people are attracted to a pub that sells it. It can make a big difference. I think the woodman might benefit from getting a couple of bottle conditioned beers in. Would this satisfy the real ale boffins amongst us, as well as avoiding the ...
