Re: 5-a-side footie

Bit of a shame but I suppose it's to be expected given it's the Easter break for the children etc. Hopefully we'll be back on the 7s the week after next. Can someone other than Biscuitman, Diamondmaker or Marathon please come forward for the next gaffership? There're plenty of regulars. It just beco...

Re: 5-a-side footie

In for the Elbow Rooms. Good shout, somewhere different. As much as I love The Dolphin it'd be nice to have a change of scenery.

Surprised you haven't checked out the Prince Alfred as it used to have a pool table...

That's a joke BTW!

Re: 5-a-side footie

I'm afraid I'd have to decline a fortnightly game. Primarily as I am somewhat commited (though I've not been the best of late at keeping to it) to a game at the NSC. At any rate I find with the knocks that come from a game and the recovery-rates from even the slightest injury of someone of my age th...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Gentlemen, Yesterday I was made aware that I (or more accurately Katherine) have won a brand-new bed. It retails at £1500. Basically it's a King-Size bed, good for allergies and has a 7-zone contoured mattress which is super comfy. It was an Ideal Home competition but here's the exact bed in another...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Haven't been able to find a suitably large enough, riddled with biting insects enough and splintered enough telegraph pole so count me in.

Re: 5-a-side footie

Continuing with the Russian themed names - sort of - we could be known as the Syddersins ? As in citizens...commies...and all that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, if I have to explain it then it must be cr*p. I know. How about Dynamo Sydenham vs Lokomotiv Firebox? Not bad but I think Spartak Sydenham would be m...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Gentlemen, I pulled my groin last night. No, that is not a euphemism and neither was it self-inflicted (stop tittering at the back!). But, I'm going to keep a watching brief on it. Happened early on in my Monday night game and I could hardly kick the ball...first prize to the person who says no chan...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Out next week too but just keen to know if Powell broke his duck lastnight? Erm, no. The young pup didn't. I fear with Alex the more he tries the more he doesn't. Perhaps we'll just keep on setting him up (I slid a couple of beauties his way) and he'll come good. Decent player so surely only...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Good game last night chaps. Once the coloureds got their noses in front the bibs could never quite peg them back.

I expect the gaffer will be back in the hotseat for next week but no harm in confirming who is availble until his return.

In.

Re: 5-a-side footie

Get well soon Parklife. Hope to see you next week?

You should try Zyban, seriously. It worked for me years ago and I was on between 20-40 Marlboro reds a day!

Re: 5-a-side footie

De La Soul [incorrectly] said 3 was the magic number. In this case it's 14 and with Ryan (cheers for registering) plus a latecomer (Dickie?) we're where I hoped we'd be. All kit is laundered but think the bountiful booty might have to stretch to new keeper gloves. The ones Lem kindly got have lasted...

Re: 5-a-side footie

I hear what you're saying Ben & Steve. Chavski Vs ManUre is on the 6th? Of course players are not bound by any obligation to play. But please bear in mind some players rush home from work, have to find babysitters or have newborns to consider. Whilst I can understand the attraction of a European...

Re: 5-a-side footie

ManUre V Chavski eh? Is it possible to watch a match hoping both teams involved get battered? Well, I might just find out. I hear you on the games though but TBH we don't seem to be affected by European Cup games, England games, half-terms or traditional holiday times. We average what we average. Ar...

Re: 5-a-side footie

With Baz and his mate mate we've just hit double figures.

Would be nice to be on ~14 come Monday. I don't suspect we'll need to downgrade but if we're not on or about that figure come then I might need to have a think...

Re: 5-a-side footie

Seeing as I'm picking the teams next week Alex I'll make sure you're on mine. Now, whilst that carries no guarantees of me aiding you in scoring again it ought to mean I shan't be inhibiting your goalscoring exploits.

The fingertip effort low down to my right was particularly Bonetti-esque!

Re: 5-a-side footie

At my age!? How very dare you! I'm only 35, I blame 2 paper rounds as a kid. But yeah, I'll have to swerve the Monday game, primarily as I doubt I'll physically get from the transport hinterland that is 'Crystal Palace' to Beckenham in time for a 7.30 game. BTW: The headphones sold for £200. Thanks ...
