Re: Cycling on Sydenham's pavements
So you're going to be walking around with your camera/phone at the ready at all times just on the off chance someone might be cycling on the pavement? Or are you going to ask them to stop and wait while you rummage around to find your camera/phone and take a snap? How about mounting a camera on your...

Car batteries can be taken to our reuse and recycling centre at Landmann Way or to any branch of Halfords.

Re: Another stabbing in Sydenham
4 years is bloody ridiculous. Surely deliberately stabbing someone in the chest should count as attempted murder... a 4 year term doesn't tally with any of this:

Knowing the mail they'd only twist it to make out inner city gang related muggings are more widespread than previously thought.

They're an eysore but they don't get in anyone's way. I'm more concerned about businesses blocking the pavement outside their premises with special offers boards.

Re: Save the Greyhound Campaign
Apologies... I've had more than a few and edited my post after you replied.... it made sense when I posted it but I'm hammered. The building was doomed from the minute the pub was closed down. It had a preservation order put on it but hey, developers have more cash than councils. Dodgy fire. Unautho...

There's nothing left of it, it's beyond saving. They won't get prosecuted. What's the point? You'll never get your own way by trying to burn a place down or demolishing it in protest.

Funny. The building wasn't too small for a pub before developers closed it down.

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
I reckon they'll get a not too stern ticking off. If the developer digs its heels what council would be willing to shell out legal fees to get the damage put right?
I''ll stand by what I said before - if this building (or what's left of it) ever sees light of day as a pub I'll eat my pants.

Re: Child friendly pub?
Ah, children. Aren't they adorable? Have just returned from a newly refurbished pub a couple of miles away. Changed tables (but did NOT make a fuss or complain) because the kids were getting too loud then walked in on 3 of the little darlings who'd just 'tagged' the gents and gave me a gobful of abu...

Try the Bridge House or virtually any pub in CP - they're like creches.

Re: The Greyhound. Does it still exist?
It's only a lost cause because it was allowed to become one as soon as the developers shut it down and left it to deteriorate before half heartedly securing the premises. The whole thing stinks.
