Re: New small coffee shop inside Dragonfly Yoga

Before it opened, the person behind it, in a desperate attempt to get publicity, said in the News Shopper that having a yoga studio in Sydenham would help tackle knife crime, adding for good measure that Sydenham had a lot of gangs. Oh, really. Yeah, but no. All the profits from the two Dragonfly y...

Re: Replacing windows

We used the Sash Guy, based in East Dulwich. He bespoke makes every frame. There are lots of reviews for him on the East Dulwich Forum.

Re: Replacing windows

We replaced our rotting wooden sashes with double-glazed made-to-measure wooden sashes with Victorian detailing. You can't tell they are double glazed to look at them. They also have draught-proofing brushes built into the frames. We're very happy with them and they look the business.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

It could be argued that those not mentioned are probably grateful not to have their own community and friends reminded that they ever associated with someone like Chris. I will always be proud of the work I did as a moderator on the SE23Life forum. I still believe the model the early mod team devel...

Possibly a typo, but I have only one Twitter account. And it is still blocked. Oh well.
I was referring also to your SE23Life account. I’ve unblocked you now.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

I've never understood the point of blocking people on Twitter, unless they are actively trolling you or being abusive (which I've never done, I hasten to add). But you blocked me. I don't believe I was ever rude or abusive, or do much on Twitter really. I did indeed block you, and I told you why wh...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

It doesn't really matter how YOU use Twitter as much as how the presidents of large countries use Twitter to announce policy shifts without consulting their advisors. And other governments and non-governments fund bots and trolls to spread fake news and discord in foreign countries or domestic 'ene...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

It all depends how you use Twitter, I think. Mine is completely non-toxic and a source of support and true friendships. It helps if there is a specific community you belong to as they can often be self-reinforcing in terms of tone and respect.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

I'm also blocked. He's commented on a tweet of yours recently too. It's very odd to block someone and then comment on their posts, knowing they won't see his response. He's done it with me, JGD and others in the past too (JGD very recently). So odd. To be fair to CB, I’m only blocked by the SE23Lif...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

I think the Mods really did try to put things right to sideline Chris to the technical bit. But it doesn't appear to be working. He is using their SE23life brand and his other life sites to continue to pursue his personal vendettas as you predicted Rachael. He just can't help it. Well, I've certain...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

It would appear I'm blocked from this official though maybe not official account as well. If it is being used in the manner you suggest, it doesn't quite fit in with the new normal the mods have expressed. I'm also blocked. I've never understood the point of blocking people on Twitter, unless they ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

It has been noted that @SE23lifeChris was attempting to trash some poor devil's reputation on Twitter by imputing that as a ne'er-do-well they should be ignored. I don't know about that, but I do see that account - which is an 'official' SE23Life account - retweeting political content from CBs pers...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park

Several months on and locals may like to know that the lake has been successfully reopened. There are regular swimmers - I even had a go myself - as well as paddle boarding and canoeing. While children under 8 are currently not allowed to use the lake, I've seen older children properly supervised en...

Re: Bell Green Proposals

It says the long term goal is to replace the single storey retail units with multiple level mixed retail and housing units, so presumably Sainsbury’s could stay. Looking at the currently Sainsbury’s building, I can seen it could well need levelled and rebuilt in the medium term. It’s been there a ve...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

A technical admin should never make decisions on what is appropriate content, bar obvious spam. Nor assume that issues that were deemed contentious some months ago are still under embargo. A technical admin should, at the most, temporarily hide a post and seek clarification from a moderator about wh...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park

The infrastructure for the wet woodland is all there - the outflow from the lake was installed some time ago. So the money has been spent already. I don’t see how there would be any safety issues with the wet woodland - it’s very shallow. It was always going to be formed after the lake was filled a...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park

I asked before but you didn’t answer: why do you say the wetlands are not going ahead? Is this official? It was my understanding that would be the last part of the project to be carried out. As you’ll have noticed, there are still some works going on around the park.

Thanks, Dick. I’ll use an external host for now. Would be interesting to know if this site no longer supports the old upload method, or whether my Mac isn’t giving me a usable pathway.

Posting images from my Mac

It's a while since I've need to add an image to a post here and my normal method no longer works (inserting the file pathway between the img BB codes). When I copy the pathway from Finder on my Mac, the pathway doesn't work here to upload the image. Have tried via 'right-click-copy pathway' and also...
