can anyone think of any (legal) direct action that can be taken. What would happen if the gate accidentally got wedged open? Would staff have to go to 'free' the gate to prevent passengers taking the sensible (and perfectly legal) exit from the station. I'm no legal expert but I do not believe that...

I spend over 2 hours a day walking about in Sydenham and as a pedestrian I would prefer the proposed Puffin crossings (Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent), rather than dangerous zebras. I'm glad that the one on the railway bridge is going. As a lifelong pedestian that's never lived in a household...

What's not good - too many cheap cafes, kebabs, fast foods, creating rubbish on the streets. Not a decent fish and chip shop (incidently Bell Green fish and chop shop used to have a queue outside every Friday). The Bell Green Chippie was fantastic. However, the one opposite the Golden Lion today is...

can anyone think of any (legal) direct action that can be taken. Quite frankly Southern trains are taking the urine... I had the misfortune to be on the last carriage of the train getting into sydenham from London bridge yesterday evening - it took me a good 5mins to get out of the station as everyo...

Does anyone have any pics of Sydenham past?
Hilliers was an antiques cum second hand shop run by a fantastic old gent who had one eye and flew in Bobmbers during the war. He must have retired and shut up shop about 10 years ago now...if not longer.

I can't believe people are expected to defend that they've got a 'right' to use the intercom system :( what is the procedure to use the intercom? Do they actually ask why you need it or do they just open it remotely. Of course, they are not qualified to judge if you are "disabled enough" ...

Sydenham Past & Present

How long have you lived in sydenham and what has changed, for better or for worse, in those years? I've lived here for over 21 years and in that time there have been many changes. For better: Public Transport has improved, and looks set to improve. There are more bus routes, they are more frequent a...

In these instances the first port of call is to actually speak to your neigbours and try and be reasonable and come to some sort of agreement. It will save a lot of time money and agro if you can do this. If not then get in touch with a soliticer/citizens advice. It is a civil matter really - you co...

I've already signed the petition 8) I've just cleared up a bit of the grammar slightly and I'll be putting it in the post first thing. (or maybe I'll email it...with Messers Duval and Dowd CC'd in) I might go and pick an argument with the managers at London Bridge tomorrow morning too... (If I'm not...

The original St. Phillips Church and the Original St Michael's Church were both detroyed by enemy action, and the cinema was detroyed - It used to be where the Post Office is today.

I wouldn't put anything past them....but I very much doubt it. Season tickets are a National Rail thing and can be bought between any two stations on the NR network. Sydenham will continue to have NR services when the Overground network comes along. the station is going to be shared between NR and LO.

Hi all, I only found this site very recently after becoming irked at the new gates being installed at Sydenham. I've lived in Sydenham all my life and I use sydenham station almost every day to travel to London Bridge. Although I do not use the plkatform 1 gate I find the attitude of Southern Railwa...
