Re: Car in Venner Square
There are now unfortunately two cars abandoned in the square. Perhaps the council can be prompted into acting a little faster now.

Re: Car in Venner Square
I spoke to the local Police earlier (couldn't get through to SSNT), who claimed that there isn't anything they can do unless the vehicle has been reported as stolen. They stated that the Council is responsible for the inspection and removal of abandoned vehicles on public land and the public roads. ...

Re: Car in Venner Square
Called the Council - the car will have a 7 day notice put on it. A 24 hour notice was not deemed appropriate apparently.

An open air cinema during the summer months would also be great in the park - it could be located near the cricket pitch to avoid any potential noise issues...

Re: Car in Venner Square
Spoke to Council finally - as the car is taxed it is the responsibility of the owner and/or insurance company to get it removed. As this hasn't happened the Council will visit the site on Monday to determine whether to put a 7 day notice of removal on the car. If deemed a danger the notice can be 24...

Re: Car in Venner Square
So one week later and still no progress from the Council. I tried calling both numbers on the Council's website - one message left on answer machine (no return call) and the other rang off after waiting in a queue for 30 mins. Perhaps one of our councillors would like to respond to this issue?

I'm sure many of you have noticed the crashed car left in Venner Square - does anybody know who to contact at the Council to get it removed?

Fly tipping along the high street
Lewisham Council states on their website that they take fly tipping very seriously yet it seems week after week items get discarded along the high street. Given that most of this area is covered by CCTV, it shouldn't be too difficult to see who the offenders are, especially if items are dumped from ...

Re: Station approach - new toilet
Chris - thank you for taking the time to reply and provide an update. It would be helpful to see whether the toilet can actually be turned around at this stage as its current position is far from ideal as many have pointed out on this forum. If not the rear of the toilet needs to be blocked off in s...

Re: Station approach - new toilet
So who in LEWISHAM COUNCIL is going to do something about this? There has been a lot of talk about rejuvenating the high street yet clearly no one wants to take responsibility for this eyesore. When will it actually open? When is the next Assembly meeting so this can be raised as an issue? Not a gre...

Re: Sydenham Guerilla Gardeners?...
I think this is a great idea - in my opinion the High Street generally would benefit from further planting, which could be raised planters (now the paving has been finished) and localized low level shrubs and plants. Although forming a Guerilla Gardening group is worthwhile, I wonder whether it is w...

Re: Mayow park gym trail
Agree with the above - the park goes from strength to strength and it's a credit to all those who work hard to keep it looking great. I've been wondering whether there is scope for a link up with the high street, which in my opinion would benefit from further greenery.
