Re: Lewisham Planning

I was under the impression councils are legally obliged to give you a decision within a certain time frame, something like 12 weeks?

Kitchen Installation Recommendation Needed

I need someone to fit some extra units in my kitchen and a work surface, will involve wall and base units, some patching up of the plaster work, and adding a couple of electrical sockets. Can anyone recommend someone? It's probably only a couple of days work as I will be assembling the carcasses.......

Re: Gas fire servicing

So after much searching I found out that lots of people will "service" a gas fire (which basically involves coming round and using your hoover to clean it and charge you ~£70). No-one wants to fix them as they are not worth the agro so they will recommend a new one if the "servicing&q...

Re: No London Bridge Trains at Christmas

An enhanced London Overground service will operate between Crystal Palace and Canada Water from Monday 22 until Wednesday 24 December, to help meet increased demand, with four additional trains per hour during the weekday peaks Well that's ok then because swapping 10 carriage trains for 4 carriage ...

Re: Overground - first five carriage train arrives!

These trains are always much busier than the London Bridge ones, I just wish whoever planned it thought about having them go to Canary Wharf rather than Canada Water as around 75% of the passengers seem to be heading there.

Re: Builder recommendation - kitchen / side return

we just had Taylor Building (http://www.taylorbuilding.co.uk/) do a loft conversion for us but I know they also do extensions and the like as we discussed doing one as well, quality of the work was very good so happy to recommend them.

Re: Update on the Alex pub

I'm confused about what the problem is...it's been a pub for a long time and it's right next to a railway line so it's always been noisy and some decent management would make it a community asset instead of the eyesore it is now.

I think he does but I don't know what it is! He's a nice bloke so won't be offended.

He did my guttering a few years ago and did a bit of pointing for free while was up there.

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey

Families sat outside enjoying and afternoon drink while their children play in a small play area. Nice music coming from inside in a restored pub filled with different age groups enjoying the space. From what I've seen the available space is pretty small so a play area doesn't seem feasible to me a...

Re: New traffic-light phasing Newlands Park/high street

This is nothing new, it's been like that in at peak times for years. It doesn't help having that lone parking spot just along from the MOT centre which has the effect of blocking any large vehicle from getting past when there is a queue, I could understand if it was a disabled bay but it isn't.
