I'd like something like Patricks on Westow Hill, a sports bar all day Saturday and a regular pub with live music in the evening. I'd rather have the emphasis on beer - it's a pub.

So, rather than moaning on a website we could: 1) Volunteer to do what we're already paying for through council taxes. 2) Volunteer to do what we're already paying for through council taxes. 3) Volunteer with a religious agenda. 4) Moan in a national right wing rag rather than on a local website and...

ah, screw the silly loyalties! it's about supporting a local team/business! Nope - it doesn't work like that over here. You support a team and you stick with them - you NEVER change. Barty is a QPR supporter - it doesn't matter that he's miles away from Loftus Road, that's his team and he can't/won...

You need to beg steal or borrow an external CD drive. You can pick one up for under 20 quid. Does it have to be MS Office? OpenOffice is available to download free and (as far as I know) is pretty much compatible with the MS stuff, e.g., I don't have PowerPoint but I can use OpenOffice Impress to do...

The Odeon in Beckenham. You live in Lawrie Park - get a 227 from Crystal Palace Park Road - it's 10 minutes away.

For the last 30 years I've been kidding myself by saying things like that before going through the turnstile.

It is the duty of every citizen to intervene and challenge bad behaviour - that intervention could just be a case of ringing the police or telling authority, rather than playing rambo - but until people do this, and are preared to do this, then nothing is going to change for the better and moaning ...

Nork, if you think that people with MP3 phones want a confrontation, then I'd say its a no brainer to leave them alone. I do. I was responding to generally unreasonable behaviour. The 3 incidents I mentioned where I intervened on what I considered unreasonable behaviour were: 1) 68 Upper Norwood - ...

Paul, I think its good that you challenge people who are being unreasonable. I reckon most people dont because they 'cant be arsed' and, when you are constantly bombarded with stories of violence and stabbings, they think its not worth the confrontation. I used to but after being punched in the mou...

People playing music out loud on their mobiles is just the worst. How on earth can anybody get aural pleasure from listening to something which sounds so crap. Not only is it the height of bad manners, but its probably the naffest thing you can do. It's nothing to do with the quality of the sound. ...

Thinking about it I'd rather not understand what's being said. Have you ever got on a 122 from Lewisham on a school afternoon? Not only do schoolkids (mostly girls) talk complete and utter crap but the volume is ear shattering. Innit.

It looks like a ban is not the likeliest option open to the community but removal of the bench may be. That's because a ban, as well as unjust, would be nigh impossible to establish in law. I might be wrong but it looks like this covers it (chapter2, sections 12 - 16): http://www.opsi.gov.uk/Acts/a...
