Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
As a silverdale resident, I think these closures are brilliant. In the years I’ve lived on the road the traffic has increased exponentially, as has road rage, The dangerous way people drive and believe they can do whatever they like has also left the road dangerous to cross and impossible to use sa...

Re: Sydenham Grand Prix
I think we reached a new low for poorly behaved drivers today. Some idiot was driving his BMW round Mayow Park.

They're out in force today...
Re: Gunshots?
More sirens.
They seemed to be moving, didn't they? Coming from a vehicle or something. And perhaps 2 slightly different sounds, or did I imagine that?

Yes and thought the same.

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park
and yet the lake had to be closed.
The press are clearly lying to advance their own agenda. I don't know who's behind Kent Live but I'd bet its (one or a combination of) the Russians/EUSSR/George Soros/the Freemasons.

Re: Forest Hill Pools
Well it is marginally better than a plastic lined puddle providing death trap circumstances and entirely unsupervised. Lewisham should hang its head in shame. It once boasted an Olympic sized swimming pool. The problem is that swimming pools are subject to strict regulations and Lewisham thought it...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park
Perhaps now some of the sneerers and jeerers will apologise for their abusive response to my original point. I am proved right. The half hearted changes will not resolve the safety issues. There MUST be buoyancy aids at 50 yard intervals around the lake. There MUST be lifeguards position in elevate...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park
These safety concerns apply to any unattended body of water though, and the same points can be made about a bathtub. You could make the same points about any lake or pond in the UK. Yes, a kid could drown at Beckenham Place Park, just as they could if they ran into the Thames if they were out mudla...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park
Just had a look on the link and I am surprised there are no life preserver rings. Though I imagine, after a few months you will begin to notice litter, cigarette ends, plastic bottles and other rubbish dumped in there. I bet if you give it a year, you will find a supermarket trolley or an old fridg...

Re: Incident at the bottom of Westwood Hill
If he caused the injuries himself, we are all better off without idiots like this on the road. Countless times I've almost been run over at the zebra crossing before westwood hill, and i've seen lots of motorbikes and cars speed off up Westwood hill, and not look at the immediate road, and instead ...

Re: Stop the use of Roundup in Mayow Park
Someone could feasibly dump some knotweed cuttings in the park. It's true. Perhaps, were that to happen, and were the cuttings to take root, glyphosphate should be considered as an option. Regardless of how I have worded it above, which I appreciate could be misleading - the petition is calling for ...

Re: Stop the use of Roundup in Mayow Park
It isn't being used to deal with Mare's tail or Japanese Knotweed. Glyphosphate is ineffective at killing Mare's Tail. Japanese Knotweed is unlikely to appear in a new site as it rarely sets seed in this country. The likelihood of someone planting Knotweed in Mayow Park is, at best, an edge case. Ro...

Stop the use of Roundup in Mayow Park
Mayow Park and all public spaces in Lewisham are being sprayed with Glyphosate (trademark "Roundup")... Despite the claims by Monsanto that Glyphosate is safe, there is growing evidence that it attacks the millions of bacteria in our bodies that help keep us healthy and further evidence t...
