Yes swear by Progas, a good local firm. They installed a whole new sytem for me, did it on time and gave me plenty of different cost options. They also responed quickly to one or to minor problems aferwards, at no cost.

I was up there on Tuesday and had a gander. To my untrained eye there were two lightweight diggers working two holes on the lower terrace, away from any above ground orginal fixtures. Didn't look down the holes because of the fencing.
The official response seems reasonable to me.

In Nevs newsagents I spoke to a woman who ws in the Abbey when the attempted robbery took place. She said tha...

Attempted robbery at the Abbey National

Two weeks after the Nat West was robbed, thieves this morning attempted to rob the Abbey. They were unsuccesful, made their escape and thankfully nobody was hurt. What is strange about this is that there was an increased police presence in the high street this morning. Two community support officers...

Try drinking in the Prince Alfred, the Wednesday night quiz is quite easy to win. You can meet the likes of the Colonel, the famous Death brothers and a few friendly Poles. Take up betting and hang out at Ladbrokes, you get all sorts in there and there is a distinct feeling of community; free sandwi...

There is an application for a mast and a bit of a campaign against it. Its not the vicar thats getting paid, but the church and, as I understand it, the money will be used to rennovate the church and the hall. have not heard anything about the playgroup being closed down though.

Having lived here for 11 years we have no problems, but thats not to stay stuff doesn't happen. From a personal safety point of view, I wouldn't think it is any worse than other parts of London and probably better than some. A lot of the violent crime is, how shall I put it, peer to peer. I dont use...

Another load there today. The council didn't bother to get back to me about the information I had so I guess people will continue to flytip there with impunity. Very annoying.

Peurto Mexico!

So we are to have a Mexican restaraunt... arriba!! I didn't ever get round to going to the Turkish one, but a friend told me it wasn't very good. Apparently a Turkish restaraunt in Beckenham underwent a similar conversion, overnight all the Turkish staff became Mexicans! Also, I see that the Man of ...

This week's Time Out sold out at Nev's newsagent and Sainsburys! Thought it a fair article on the whole but isn't the 50% increase in house prices over five years quote in danger of being a self fulfilling prophecy with buyers attracted by the prospect of capital growth pushing up prices? BTW, haven...

Ive lived on KPR for about 11 years and I like it. There is a good mix of people and property and everyone seems to rub along ok. You can usually park ok, but not nessecarily out side your house if you live in the low numbers. Kids play out safely at the top of the street. Dont know what else to say...

I would be up for that. I note they have film nights at the Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich Village and have screened some interesting stuff. There used to be at least three cinemas in Sydenham, apparently. As for a venue, perhpas there is a big room upstairs at the Dolphin :)

I used to collect clothing for the Sense (a charity for deaf and blind children) shop in Catford and these people are a real pain. Hey Juwlz, was being "ironic" when I said you were asking for it, honestly, only joking. Interesting what the forensics lady said and I was pretty impressed a few years a go when I reported someone trying to steal a scooter. The police arrived after 40 mins, with the delay due to the fact ...

Hey Juwlz, sorry to hear about that but I guess you were "asking for it" after starting this thread. I wonder if the miscreants viewed this board. Seriously though, I have noticed a number of vehicles have been robbed of their stereos in Mayo Road, Sydenham end, recently. Hope they dont fi...

Road works in Sydenham Road

After putting up with Transco's roadworks for over two weeks I was delighted to see on Thursday that they had finally finished and were in the process of reisntating the road. However, from Friday all work stopped so I rang Transco to ask if they could send someone witha barrow load of tarmac to fin...
