Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site
I'm happy to say that Barratts withdrew their application (at the last possible moment) before it would have been rejected. Withdrawing it allowed them to remove all the plans from the database. Of course, the Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum have saved copies of them all anyway. So many complaints, b...

Monopole telecoms mast application at Bell Green
An application is live for a monopole telecoms mast with a clutter of cabinets at the corner of Bell Green and Sydenham Road. It will sit against the wall of the Sydenham Green Health Centre's green space, where pavement width is constricted. If you have time, please can you do a brief objection? I ...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site
The Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum has a panel of local architects, civil engineers, a traffic engineer and environmental experts who have studied the plans. We are all keen to see this site redevelop, but think that this application is unsatisfactory. This is their response. Emma Talbot, Director o...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site
You can definitely comment on this planning application. The consultation zone is the limit of their leafleting. If you are within the boundary and didn't get notified about the application, then please email planning.lewisham.gov.uk, including your full postal address and let them know immediately....

28th January Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum meeting
28th January 11am to 1pm at Sydenham Library, we have an exciting meeting of the BGNF. The host is our new mediator, Derek Stebbing, appointed by Locality and funded by the Department of Levelling Up. He is working with us to come to an agreement with Lewisham over the boundary. We have two topics t...

Re: Resolution from Sydenham Local Assembly re: BGNF and Area
There was a public consultation about whether to approve the Bell Green Neighbourhood Area boundary, which was publicly discussed over 2 years. Almost all the public respondents approved; a handful of councillors didn't. Lewisham’s director of planning rejected the boundary, and designated an area o...

Do you seriously think government funds things without reading all the expert reports and mountains of supporting data? I'm not a Tory donor....
Don't let your conspiracy-theory level dislike of me blind you to serious problems at Lewisham Council.

Um, the fact that the relevant government department is funding support so that Lewisham can be challenged on their position?

Re: Resolution from Sydenham Local Assembly re: BGNF and Area
How can I put this? Lewisham Council have made a decision. We have shared their response with multiple professional experts, who all agree that Lewisham is wrong. The government department in charge of neighbourhood planning aren't happy, and have sent an expert in to mediate between parties and repo...

Re: Resolution from Sydenham Local Assembly re: BGNF and Area
This whole saga only reinforces the council’s original decision to not approve this so-called forum in the first place. A real forum would represent the views of the whole community, not just those of one or two people. Um, what about the seventy members of the Forum? Hardly a couple of people! Alw...

Re: Public Meeting: Development Proposals for Livesey Hall and Environs
Excellent news to have a consultation, although sadly their plans would remove sports ground - an area of four hard tennis courts - from our Asset of Community Value. Given the total loss of the Bridge Leisure Centre, this would be a blow. To clarify the status of this consultation, I asked Emma Tal...

Barratt Homes zoom tomorrow Sat 12th at 11am
Tomorrow morning, Saturday 12th November at 11am, Barratt Homes are holding an online consultation for their plans for the gasholder site at Bell Green. Blocks of flats up to 14 storeys high, and zero parking except for disabled bays. This will require a controlled parking zone, which may be a probl...

Bell Green Barratt Homes consultation 10 Nov 5-7pm
Hi all, Barratt Homes are holding a drop-in consultation meeting tomorrow, Thursday November 10th 5-7pm at Champion Hall. Barratt Homes are redeveloping the gasholders site as Bell Green Works. This involves tall buildings around the Livesey, and a zero-parking model in an area with a PTAL rating of...

Re: Sydenham Tyres
Sydenham Tyres has been taken over by a new business, and they seem really nice. The previous crew left when the building had to be substantially rebuilt, on the orders of Building Control. The tyres were hiding massive damage from a vehicle hit, and the brickwork of the gable had a huge and growing...

It's a dead cert that it's a meanwhile use. Given the economic issues and instability, you'd have to be reckless to start development now.

Re: Lewisham and planning breaches
Hi Martha, Lewisham definitely tend to let planning breaches go, mainly because they don’t go and inspect sites. My advice would be to email planning@lewisham.gov.uk AND planningenforcement@lewisham.gov.uk, ccing in your alone. Say there are xxxx planning breaches, and u ma ask them to open an enfor...

Re: SE23/SE26.life are no more
The closure is a huge loss, as it was easy and intuitive to upload documents and images. That allowed people to see what was being discussed, without laborious explanations. Is there any chance that STF could adapt to allow this too? I'm told that posting images is possible, but I simply can't do th...
