Re: Worst local transport journeys?

Emc I thought it was the case that if you register your bank card with TfL - their period capping system kicked in and you could be assured that you would pay no more than the cheapest form of ticket purchase for that period, whether it was weekly or monthly. I have not looked at it for some time, b...

Re: Worst local transport journeys?

It does not work very well for this route as the bus is usually parked up with the engine off and therefore not transmitting its whereabouts because of the large intervals between services, both coming south and going north. Unfortunately FH station and Bell green are extremely close ot the startin...

Re: STF Users Meeting - arranged 1pm Sunday (NOT 12 noon)

Dear topofthehill You may have noticed that a response to you on another forum has been censored. The comment made was a light hearted attempt at humour to your “second” comment for AIO. Having prepared agendae and minutes for some nine years in the past, I did feel that the passage complained of co...

Re: STF Users Meeting - arranged 1pm Sunday (NOT 12 noon)

You can never get a police enquiry to be complete at the Golden Lion. In line with the wish not to reveal too much before admin gets to review items, there were a few juicy details revealed about the UK’s longest unsolved case. Attendees are sworn to secrecy ‘pon death by dismemberment and other nas...

Re: A Leaf out of East Dulwich Forum's book?

Sorry its confusing Robin.

Too late for me to change though.

JRM is not a member, it is one of the more polite abbreviations for Jacob Rees-Mogg. He is a parliamentarian of questionable repute.

Re: Lewisham planning website query

An application can be withdrawn by the applicant at anytime prior to a decision being made and when this happens the reference number and other searches will not produce a result. If the planning application had a decision recorded, it should not have been removed but if no decision had been recorde...

Re: Question Time in Dulwich 8 Nov 2018

It may be old, but I'm not sure how good it is I've only occasionally watched it, put off by the feeling that is it all staged, and reduces serious debate to chasing ratings. Ok - loose terminology on my part and to agree further, Mr Dimbleby's actions frequently underscore your point about ratings...

Alternatively next Sunday? However, I do appreciate that this is quite far away.
Both good for me with a preference for the afternoon if we move to Sunday. Neither seem a long way away.

Thank you for your efforts in this.

Here is a view that is out of step with some of the posts in this thread. But typically conversely, let me agree with TredownMan, Michael and Stuart. This site doesn’t seem toxic to me. https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/17009985.bromley-gas-works-fire-on-homesdale-road-was-accidental/?ref=mrb&lp=16 A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: “The cause of the fire is accidental and believed to be due to hot gas works being carried out.” A fairly defintive conclusion from LFB.

Fire at Gas-holder Site

Seems like another over-reaction to the presence of redundant gas-holders. Not to worry - no-one has been hurt and it's Bromley's Homesdale Road gasworks site that has gone up. Police are treating it as suspicious. https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/17003939.bromley-fire-gas-works-on-homesdale-road/...

Re: Lewisham wins £37.7m from Sadiq Khan for new homes

John H I am pretty sure you are not asking those questions directly of me. I sense they are more of an observational comment or rhetorical question even. What I would want for these monies is that they provide socially affordable housing for this who need them. And there seems to be agreement that p...

@Tredownman - what you say is true and that's why it is important to understand why the scheme has been withdrawn so that Lewisham and Lewisham Homes can learn for the future and not do the same thing again. Obviously there was something not correct - either procedurally or functional. Shame so muc...
