Costcutter just got smashed up by the bus stop at 10.15 tonight, decided to get out of there. 15 masked youths or so legged it off into Queensthorpe. Pretty scary with no police around.
I would stay off the high street for now just in case.

Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
thanks Biscuitman, I don't think that will really help unfortunately.
The planning document specifically mentions because its social housing car ownership will be low and there wont be any additional need for car parking. I'm curious if this is actually the case.

Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
Out of interest does anyone have any facts about car ownership for those in this type of social housing? Other than the blandness of the design that seems to be the other issue regarding the development of the site.
thanks

Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
1. Parking. Why cannot they insist purchasers do not have cars. Plenty of buses down the road. 2. Seems to object to Balconies. Not ideal over main road but surely better than no balcony at all. Not sure what they are implying about childrens playground. I assume they think the children will make t...

255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
I found a planning application for 17 houses/flats for the buildings at 255-269 Sydenham Rd (between Highclere and Sunnydene Street) that people should be aware of. While its great something is going to be done with the derelict buildings but it's a shame they couldn't renovate the old buildings. Af...

Bit late in posting but just to encourage anyone to go to the next one the have. Lovely hidden space just up from Mayow Park and well worth a visit. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3039/5777233392_b0df417d1d_z.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3120/5777223724_be0732e7f5_z.jpg http://farm4.static.fli...

Mayow Park Dog Mess
This seems to be getting worse in the park and I was curious if anyone has talked to a dog owner after seeing them leave it and if it actually worked? Anyone got any advice on approaching someone from experience? It's got to the point where today I saw a guy walking with his young daughter and a sma...

This is depressing, its a really nice corner to Mayow Park now. I thought the park keeper was meant to be there full time or was that wishful thinking these days?

Hopefully the Bell Green work will help this end of Sydenham a bit.
Speaking of building works, does anyone know when the high street is meant to start?
