That MyPenge site has hardly captured the positives in its photo gallery. Where's the parks and almshouses?
Oh well, back t this thread, I'd love a decent message board for Penge. A sub forum off this one would be ideal.

Lewisham Council have put the outline of a plan to the Mayor/TfL which would mean that the extension would come through Catford/Catford Bridge and go along the existing line to Hayes. There have already been some rough estimates of the cost of moving Lower Sydenham station across Southend Lane to t...

You could just as easily argue that with Sainsburys, Lidl, Wilkinsons and now a large 99p shop Penge's more compact shopping area has far more reasons to go to it than the sprawl of unattractive small shops that Sydenham offers. Just a thought. (Sydenham has better pubs, cafes and restaurants though)

I've had them overlooking my garden from a bigger garden that backs onto mine but never using the feeders. There are loads of them in the Penge/Beckenham/Sydenham area. At the moment I'm too busy feeding the countless goldfinch and greenfinch that feed from my niger seed feeders. Cost me a fortune b...

I've been having problems with Virgin Media dropouts for about 6 weeks. I replaced the modem and had an engineer around once with no notable improvement. As usual a garbled discussion with someone in India hardly rectified the problem but did get me a mighty £4 reduction in my bill.... which is more...

I've just heard a rumour in the checkout at Sainsbury's (wow!) that Penge Homebase is closing, to be an Asda! (Personally, I don't think that is very likely as the site isn't great for a supermarket like that? I wonder what others think?) :) The car park is way too small for a supermarket I'd have ...

The whole thing with the Sydenham Hill service is madness. There are almost as many trains at midday as peak. The difference is the peak ones service two stations, Blackfriars and Victoria, so if you want to go to Vic you're not actually better off travelling at peak than off peak with the day tripp...

He could try one of these clubs in the Tandridge League. My son plays in the under 12s and it's well organised. Wickham Wanderers are probably the nearest.
