Re: Applause for the NHS

I live opposite the greyhound and many were out clapping or at their windows. Car drivers tooting horns, passengers clapping and whooping. It was a very emotional experience. What a shame that it has taken this crisis for everyone to appreciate each other and those that care for us.

A couple of Cash Machine warnings

From the Sydenham Facebook page:- 1. Be careful if using cash machines on the high street. 3 young guys just snatched money off a guy using the Barclays atm. They ran off and hid but I just saw them come out of hiding and head up newlands Park 2. Honor Oak Post office cash machine seems to be fitted...

Re: 75 and 194 buses on diversion

Add to the mess that the bus app on mobile was showing Zero buses on both routes in sydenham so my mate ended up getting an uber home thinking the buses were not running at all.... what a total F*k up.

I drove past where the burst main was last night and it was all back to normal, all roadworks gone. My shower seemed a lot better for it this morning... finally after 3 weeks with very low pressure.

Re: Low water pressure

Boy, the water pressure was low this morning. Switched on the shower so I could wash my hair, and the low-pressure warning light immediately came on. No water. On Friday 6th a water pipe burst by the junction of Lawrie Park Road and Crystal Palace Park Road so we have that causing low pressure now ...

On a separate issue, does anyone know what happened at the NatWest bank in the high street on Saturday afternoon? There were two police cars and an ambulance car parked outside, and a crowd of people milling around the entrance.
Someone was taken ill in the bank and sadly passed away.

mosy wrote: 26 Nov 2019 14:38 Seemingly Ubers are discriminated against in central London as they are subject to the congestion charge which black cabs are exempt from.

Uber are not being discriminated personally, it's all non-black cabs. So it affects all Mini cabs, Addison, Uber and all the others too.

That must have been terrifying, not just for your poor children but for you too as a parent. I agree with all your questions. They should have called the police at the first sign of trouble not "chased them off".. I'd have one further questions... I wonder what the parents of those youths ...

Re: Robbery at newsagent

I heard today that the small newsagent opposite The Greyhound was robbed at around 5 pm yesterday. A guy (black with a beard and wearing a hood with a baseball cap underneath it), who claimed to have a knife, grabbed money from the till and ran off. Yes, this is true, the owner told me this morning...
