Re: Bell Green - A New Plan, January 2019
Don’t see why your opinion might carry any more weight than anyone else’s here? Maybe you weren’t invited to the meeting because of your relentless, pompous, bellicose, self-important rambling, your singling-out and bullying of others, and the fact you’re not actually interested in anyone’s opinion...

Bell Green - A New Plan, January 2019
So here we go again. SydSoc has convened another secret squirrel meeting and held it on Saturday. It invited two councillors from each of the Bellingham and Sydenham wards. It invited an architecture company to describe the benefits of a Masterplan for the tiny portion of the site that now has no pl...

Re: Petition to Support the Redevelopment of All Inn One
i was properly taken to task last night on a technical point. A robber armed with a gun held up the pub late at night approximately 10 years ago. In my defence, I don't think the robber was one of the regulars and therefore does not fit into my definition of "locals". Just setting the reco...

Re: Petition to Support the Redevelopment of All Inn One
Can’t wait for the response from the “Real Friends” of All Inn One Why would FohSoc's report need a reply ? Its been considered, prepared and written by a Society with some integrity and offering its opinion, in step with and accountable to its community, on an application within its geographic rea...

From Lewisham Planning: 18 Jan 2019 "Today we received confirmation from Kier’s agent that the appeal against the Council’s refusal of planning permission for an Aldi store and SGN offices on the site of the gasholders at Bell Green has been withdrawn. We understand that works will instead pro...

Another press piece on the Bell Green gas holder demolition that is underway. http://www.eastlondonlines.co.uk/2019/01/lewishams-historic-gasholders-are-set-to-be-demolished / A local Forum owner and former resident of the area has been quoted prominently in the piece. He manages to mention his foru...

Re: Sydenham under a new flight path?
There are various consultation events, none of which are in South London which is not acceptable. In SE23 they have been campaigning for a long time and got local MP's on board as aircraft noise has been getting worse for sometime, https://se23.life/t/aircraft-noise/5990/23 The Forest Hill Society ...

Ella Kissi-Debrah - A Very Sad Death & a Welcome Reversal
Not quite Sydenham but close enough to have a very direct and extremely important bearing. This link at the BBC reports that the Attorney General has decided to announce a fresh inquest after hearing new evidence linking Ella Kissi-Debrah's death to illegal levels of air pollution near her home in s...

Re: Bell Green Gas Holders - Proposal to Demolish in April 2018.
Excellent point on TredownMan's part. It is difficult to see this web-page as anything other than a politically motivated statement with little or no grounding in reality. Heritage England (HE) does NOT concur with LBL's view on the curtilage issue, proponents from SydSoc have been pushing the point...

A portion of the web-site commentary at the same link says this: "SGN are open to retaining part of the structure on site to acknowledge the heritage of the gasholders. We are very supportive retaining part of the structure and has begun a dialogue with SGN as to the feasibility of this. Lewish...

Re: Trains to Sydenham and Forest Hill on New Years Eve
Totally ambiguous weasel words received today from TfL. Has anyone heard of any material change to our services on New Year's Eve ? Dear Mr Doherty, On New Year’s Eve, customers will be able to enjoy TfL public transport through the night and travel for free between 23:45 and 04:30. Travel will be f...

that road is the south circular, and is TfL road, so road owner - TfL, Bridge owner - Network Rail - therefore actually nothing to do with Lewisham at all In the case of the Forest Hill mural and for reasons that are not clear, the bridge and a small area on the other side of the road passing under...

Re: New Aldi approved in Bell Green
I'm not sure what 'the process' would be - I don't think it would be the planning process unless you were painting on residential buildings or using illumination. Getting funding from council sources might be a different matter if they don't like your design but other sources of funding can always ...
