1)From memory I can't think of any photos I've seen of that side of the palace around that time.
2)apart from http://www.itnsource.com which hosts numerous clips from different news sources (although not all are available as a preview yet) don't know any.

Certainly The first photo is up by the higher terrace near the south transept sphynx steps. I believe all the car scrapping was done on the terraces/main palace site.
