Re: St Philip Neri Meeting - Thursday 19 July 7pm
I really wish the fly posterer would stop. Makes the area look scruffy and now someone has fly tipped under one of the posters. It’s in a part of Fairlawn not usually fly tipped and I can’t help think that making the trees look shabby has made someone think it’s ok to dump stuff.

Re: Noise in Lower Syd last night
I have no probs with occasional parties that go on until late. However, I would agree that 3am is way tooo long. It was coming from near Home Park I think. Hopefully a one off!

Re: St Philip Neri Meeting - Thursday 19 July 7pm
I am very close to the building works on Fairlawn and yes it is pre-8am but more like 745 rather than 630 start up - I feel that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Just want to add that not ALL Fairlawn residents are against the works. I think cladding is ugly and should be changed but have no problems wit...

Hi,
I spoke to the guy who was handing out leaflets. They are making the road safer. What’s not to like?

Hello
Just wanted to say that Stephen tuned our piano today and I thoroughly recommend him. Thanks for the advice, I know it’s ages since I posted for help, but it’s a long story!

Re: Sydenham Assembly Wednesday 13th June 2018
I think the rhetoric and actions of this debate is getting out of hand. As a Fairlawn resident I witnessed parents and children who go to Philip Neri reading the posters someone had pinned to the trees. Some were visibly put out that their new school had been described as a “monstrosity”. And “act n...

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
So planning for the boundaries is now on the Lewisham website. Is anyone who is good at reading drawings and has a decent computer (taking over half hour to load on mine) able to tell me what they are doing to the boundaries between the houses and the playground? Seems like they are taking away curr...

Re: Amazing family friendly days out 1.5 hrs from se26
Went to Coombe Wood (borough of Croydon) a fortnight ago with the kids. Nothing child specific but it is the right size for a walk with younger ones. There are gardens with wel kept beds, rockeries and a wooded area. We made a den. The cafe has a children’s menu and my food was much above average fo...

Japanese knotweed
I reported the Japanese knotweed which is at the top of burghill road (where brambles are near Mayow) to the council last year and nothing was done and this year it has grown back in abundance. Reported again but the council says it’s nothing to do with them as private land, but it’s starting to gro...

A shame as his coffee was more to my liking.
Maybe a pint-sized pub so you could have a sneaky one on the way home!

Re: Local Legends Sydenham & Penge
Great thread. Lots of people: Raffaele agree. Also the chap that runs cherry and ice is always super friendly. I think that many of the people who work/volunteer at Sydenham library are saints. The chap who cleans lower sydenham streets has good chat too. Lots of community spirit in Sydenham.

Re: The Monstrosity
Yes the planning letter we received stated that the original designs had materials unsuitable for school environment but reading between the lines they probably didn’t know who would maintain/clean the greenery in the troughs that were going to be in the brick work. Local residents were given a chan...

Re: The Monstrosity
There will still be a playground. Just in a different place. The prefabs at the back will be demolished and the smaller playground there made bigger. There are plans to have greenery on the roof and they are putting new trees in. They have changed the outside material from the original plans which i...

Re: Waste Collection
Oh god 4 weeks! At least they lock quite well. The last time my black bin wasn't collected it got infested with maggots...my fault entirely due to chucking a sweet potato unbagged in there. Apparently once they are rotten they are Michelin star for flies. Who knew. Good job I hate sweet potato! Not ...

Re: Waste Collection
Should be Tuesday. Black bin only collected every 2 weeks with food and recycle every week. I put out food bin today and it wasn't bloomin' collected. Now stinks. what's more, you cannot report missed collections by phone anymore, only the online way, which in my experience has never worked. Is ther...
