Re: Amazing family friendly days out 1.5 hrs from se26

Took my 3 and 1 year old boys to Hever castle the other day and they loved it. Not sure if just due to summer hols, but they had reenactments with Henry viii etc and jousting. Well worth the entry fee. A full day out

Re: Nursery / Pre-school in Sydenham

2 children at cornerstone. Both very happy. It's light, airy and clean and they spend plenty of time outside which is important for me. In a previous nursery i had to take a lot of time off work to take care of ill children. Could be just a coincidence, but I feel the outdoor space and cleanliness m...

Re: Istanbul 'supermarket'

If an item is priced incorrectly on the shelf, or scans at the wrong price at the till, retailers are under no obligation to honour it, under the Sale of Goods Act. They can offer the item at the correct price or refuse your money and withdraw the product from sale. Obvs if it is a question of a few...

Re: Istanbul 'supermarket'

Hi I have worked in the wine industry for over 15 years. From high street to finer establishments, so a lot of the stuff has passed my nose (or gone down the gob!) wine under screwcap can indeed be faulty. It can be reductive or more probably in this case oxidised (if it was like vinegar) especially...

Re: Baby club?

Hi I am just nearing end of maternity leave with 2nd baby so I tried a few. The nicest, least cliquey playgroup I found was the one in the church on Sydenham park road on Friday mornings. Near cuddly bear nursery. Forgotten the name. If you are lower Sydenham based then the little group at st Michae...

Best way to Abingdon Nr oxford on Saturday

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone does this route. Consulted google and there were a few options. The one I usually take is the route that goes via Hammersmith M4 etc. Was wondering if anyone does the more roundabout way but bypassing London on A3 , New Malden etc

Thanks

Re: sydenham post office

Yes strike. We went to the PO in forest hill instead (the one in WH Smith). Long q but 3 counter staff on so was about a 10-15 min wait. Not too bad, even with 2 kids in tow, as books along the way ! I am pretty sure I saw I sign saying they were going to be open earlier than usual (8) during week u...

Lincrusta

Toying with the idea to put Lincrusta underneath the dado. Apparently it's hard to hang and should only use specialists/ accredited people. Has anyone done this/used anyone?

Am I a bit bonkers to do this?

Hi all, the red lion wants to have a jam night two weeks on Friday, anyone interested? I reckon it could be the same format as the Beer Rebellion one, but louder!
