Re: Chinese takeaway

As a slight sideline , we ordered last night from Tse's on line via Just Eat , rather than ringing up direct - quoted 40 mins delivery , showed delivered after 70 mins, actually delivered after 90 - 95 minutes - food wasn't as hot as usual, not as good as usual, with one small item missing - i'm gue...

Sydenham Green Group Practice

I am a member of the patients forum at SGGP The most common problem we come across is difficulty in getting appointments in response to this they are making changes. Unfortunately I cant work out how to link an image, so have just posted the text of their announcement - you will see it in full if yo...

Re: Chinese takeaway

Parker - yes another valid point - try a few till you find what you like, then stick with that one - thats what we did with Tse's about 9 years ago ( how depressing , just looked it up on my credit card), so far apart from one poor spell ( new chef maybe?), been happy with that decision and looks li...

Re: IS SYDENHAM POST OFFICE CLOSING?

Was in Sydenham yesterday at 13:30 to post a parcel - both self service machines were broken, apparently the engineer had been there all day, so they are obviously not that reliable. Only 2 tills were open - well it was lunchtime, but then i guess thats why there were 20 odd people ahead of me in th...

Re: IS SYDENHAM POST OFFICE CLOSING?

Eagle Royal Mail Parcels is what i use Sydenham Post office for on at least 95% of my visits - thats the easiest but not the only way of sending a parcel, unless of course (as i usually am) you are using a return system for a retailer that specify (or pay for) Royal Mail good point re which Sydenham...

Re: IS SYDENHAM POST OFFICE CLOSING?

Ive not used Beckenham much for many years , but it never seemed that busy during the week. Sydenham on the other hand, seems to be busy most of the time - how can it be loss making? maybe the P&L accounts are loaded with costs that shouldn't really be added on. It would be a great inconvenience...

Re: Chinese takeaway

i think the most interesting point to come from this is that we all have our own tastes on takeaways , so suppose for future reference the conclusion is , you'll just have to try a few till you find the right one for you

Re: Chinese takeaway

Tse's in Forest Hill has been our regular for many years
not the cheapest , and can take some time at busy periods, but very tasty, and if, like me , you react badly to too much MSG , they don't seem to use it

Re: Burglary in Thorpes

Sorry to hear that TheProf, Hope you didn't lose too much and there wasn't damage Welcome to the Thorpes. Unfortunately the Thorpes roads do stand out as looking more prosperous than some of the surrounding parts of Sydenham , so we do seem an attractive target for break ins. If you live right on th...

Re: Haven and Rookstone development. (LP triangle)

Does anyone know current status of this property development? The current look of it, is getting on my nerves. (I walk past it every day). As I understand, the original application of 107 units is under appeal.....does anyone know how it went /is going...or hopefully, when the alternative plan for ...

Water Supply Pipe replacement

Our 1904 house still uses the original lead inlet supply pipe. Over time the pressure seems to be reducing , and we guess that its slowly furring up, and really needs replacing. This of course is going to be tricky as it comes under a Thorpes rubble wall and a hedge into a concrete floor. We assume s...

Given Greyhounds are renowned for their speed, isn't it ironic the name is going to be forever linked with Purelake in the history of Sydenham?

hi Breezse happy to complete your survey , the trouble is my main loyalty card is Nectar - I've looked at the first two pages of your survey and its all about their website - I've visited it maybe 3 times in the last 5 years , so have nothing much to add - don't want to skew your results with a whol...
