Zozo, If you walk up Thorpewood avenue starting at the bottom walking on the left hand side it is the last house on Thorpewood avenue before you turn into Radlett avenue. It has a black roof and the brick work is bare (not painted). I have absolutely nothing against the owners but I along with a lot...

Yeah whats wrong with having a BBQ and the remote control car racers have been there for years but their track next to the stadium isn't available to them at the moment so they have to make do with the car park. I go for a walk there quite regularly and I haven't noticed much rubbish. The whip guy s...

Mysterious house

Right, firstly, those that call me paranoid/nosey in relation to this thread you're probably right but this question has been bugging me and alot of other people for a long time now. I live in the Thorpewood avenue area of Sydenham and Forest hill and have lived in the area all my life. On the corne...

Crystal palace park. Strange structure

Hi guys. It's certainly been a while since I posted here but I've got a question I've beening meaning to post for ages now. At the rear entrance to Crystal Palace park (near the bus station on the parade) there's a wierd structure that loosely resembles two white arches. It's been there for about a ...

Wendy before making a decision on the art deco buildings on Taymount rise check out the se23.com forum because last year some of the residents of forest croft warned other prospective tenents of an extortionate maintenance bill they believe they were tricked into and it kept rising with no visible w...

Upper Sydenham is definitly safer than lower but you don't have as many shops at your disposal. The Wells park area is pretty sketchy though. Do yourself a favour and move the better side of Forest hill, the Dartmouth rd side of the tracks. Far less mouth breathers to put up with.

To school and back

From the age of nine I walked to school with my own set of keys unsupervised (primary school, Eliot bank was a couple of minutes walk) and when we had sports day at Crystal palace stadium we walked from Forest hill school and back. Now I know times have changed i.e child predators and increased traf...

The Royal mail and the post office are a useless gang of thieving pikeys who can't even count let alone read. Initial city link are a bunch of tossers as well!

It was inevitable

It's finally happened, Peter Walsh has now retired from his post as headmaster/legend of Forest hill boys. All is not lost however as I know Steve Brady (my form tutor) will do a stirling job of carrying the torch and making the school a shining example to the rest. Good luck with your retirement sir.

Price of Christmas trees

After looking at the se23.com forum as well as the price tags on Christmas trees around the borough it also struck me how expensive they are, anything between £10-£50. In our digs after a few beers with the lads we just 'borrow' ours.

Sydenhams cool but Forest hill is better although some say they're pretty much the same place. If I were you I'd look around upper Sydenham compared to lower.

I've read it and think it's very good. If you want a copy Forest hill library has got stacks of them. I didn't see any mention of Sydenham town forum or se23.com. Do they accept articles written by amateurs?

Thanks for this Joanna. I was asked if I had a light by a guy who looked like he was up to no good in exactly the same place as you described but nothing came of it. I hope the young lady makes a full recovery. Keep an eye out Sydenham.

Whats the problem Howard has someone moved in on your patch? You should come to a quiet arrangement as to who has control of Sydenham's thriving Cannabis market. He's a puff dealer and before any Guardian readers start piping up and tell me to put produce some evidence of my assumption, get a grip.
