Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

I'm reasonably sure Sydenham had a Woolworth's where Supadrug is now. Anyone remember? That retail unit has undergone a number of different retailers in its fairly (comparatively) short history.

Anyway back to the Sainsbury's unit - I understand they are recruiting.

Activity this morning in the rear unit. Couple of guys measuring up inside and another outside saying it's going to be Sainsbury's - opening in about 7 weeks!

Awaiting confirmation as to who will take the front unit.

Re: Organ Donation

I think I'm old enough to add to this post so here goes (without apologies) Last year, after a big "0" birthday, I wrote to both of my children (I know they'd be embarrassed to be described as such) confirming my wishes re organ donation and, importantly, a signed Living Will, nearly 20 ye...

Re: RIP LA Fitness

Stuart If you are suggesting I begin another campaign, the answer is "no"! It's time for someone else who feels as strongly as you do to take on the mantle, and time for me to hang up my boots. I still have one or two irons in the fire that I hope to see through, not least The Greyhound. S...

Re: RIP LA Fitness

The Greyhound : The planning permission includes a "community room". The requested ACV staus is intended to protect this facility and to ensure that whoever ends up by running the, hopefully, pub (we have yet to learn how this building is going to be marketed) is aware that there is an am...

Station Approach flowerbed

After several months of discussion the unloved, overgrown flowerbed at the top of Station Approach was cleared on Thursday by Glendale, restocked and handed over to Emini, our lovely cobbler in Station Approach, who has offered to look after it, keep it free from rubbish and restock as necessary. I'...

Re: Electricity problems?

All the lights were out in Station Approach at that time last night although lights were on in Sydenham Road.

Also, although lights were on in houses in Lawrie Pk Road, the street lights were not here functioning either.

I moved to Sydenham in 1969.

Suits me fine - lots of green spaces, fantastic transport links and a great community. Can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live!

All looks good from the outside. Waiting with bated breath to r...
