Re: Kirkdale Costcutters

I was under the impression it was a mix of not knowing how a bra is meant to fit/sit/support the body in the best way as well as different makes have different sizes even for the same fit - something which does happen across male and female clothes but to a far far larger extent for women from what ...

It’s the place in FH that has moved (presumably to expand and/or take advantage of cheaper rent per square foot)

Re: Dog friendly cafes in Sydenham or Forest Hill

Archie Parker in FH definitely is (and does pretty banging coffee and daily deals) as is (bit our way for you) Kent House coffee and flower shop I’m almost* sure which does great great cake, has a nice quiet upstairs room and is run by a really friendly guy. Definitely also seen dogs in the moustach...

Re: New small coffee shop inside Dragonfly Yoga

Believe the food and drink offerings should be starting this Saturday. From having a look I spied: Coffees Juices Protein Shakes Soft drinks Protein bites Hot sandwiches Cold snacks (I think!) Agree with the above - classes are great and the volunteers are very friendly and helpful. Planning on trea...

Ignition art gallery (“Emerge Curated Gallery”)

Just wanted to shout out Ignition having a dedicated separate art gallery under their umbrella at the Sydenham Centre - “Emerge Curated” It will change monthly and the one opening this week is called “Love without borders in London” and shows artworks by refugees with all profits going towards refug...

New small coffee shop inside Dragonfly Yoga

Opening Saturday just inside Dragonfly - supplied by Roar Snack Company - my guess would be coffee alongside fresh juices and healthy snacks (imagine may include protein balls and vegan things amongst the usual?) but just guessing! Quite a big calm space so may be a good spot for a cheeky quiet bit ...

Re: Library closed / under new management

Library has re-opened under V22 management and already have a new twitter account and presumably are going to try and promote the library and it’s resources/classes more whilst perhaps patching it up or adding new things. The twitter account for anyone interested is @LibrarySe26

Re: What’s going on at x?

Unfortunately I also think maybe it’s done - 5 weeks or so since it was last open and no responses when I’ve emailed/tweeted them. Always really enjoyed William’s chat, the cakes and they did some of the best coffee in sydenham in my opinion. Real shame if it is finished as the inside looked a lot b...

Library closed / under new management

Have taken the liberty of copying and pasting this from another forum just in case anyone is planning to go to library and are not aware: After this Saturday, Sydenham Library will be closed for 2 weeks for a long–overdue assessment of the interior, to plan solutions to longstanding issues of leakin...

Re: What’s going on at x?

And now some new windows/works being done inside the former Calabash of culture... hopefully some of these places have someone actively moving in?! (Rather than the landlord just doing it up a bit to make it a more attractive but nothing doing - which would still be some nice forward progress)

What’s going on at x?

Just being a bit of a nosey parker to be honest but noticed 3 different places having some renovations of sorts and wondered if anyone knew what was happening. Guess could just be the owner jazzing it up to try and rent out rather than someone actively taking over a unit... 1. Next to Zigghys Cafe 2...

Re: Pro-sport (244-246 Kirkdale) Change of use

I posted this on one of the planning application updates but Stuart but didn’t get a reply from anyone - Knowing absolutely nothing about planning etc and there being no news from anywhere I wonder whether it’s just the landlord changing the use to try and rent it out as a restaurant as might have b...

Re: Shooting in the high street this afternoon

Think there is still a lot of unknowns/conjecture around what happened with quite varied bits of info but it does appear the person shot thrmself - (eg: I have read that a shot ricocheted off a car and back but another report says people left the car and the person used the butt of the gun to try an...

Re: What's happened to the Crooked Billet?

Closed for a few weeks for refurbishment. Rumour has it it has been taken over by the same chain “craft union” that own the Pawleyne Arms round the corner and recently acquired the Hill in FH. If this is true then expect cheap drinks, Tv screens for sports etc. Seems to be a running theme at the mom...

Re: Cox's Walk footbridge

If the info on the petition site is true it appears essentially: 1. The trees don’t need to be felled for the works to be done 2. The trees aren’t the cause of the damage to the bridge/works that need to be done and therefore again don’t need to be removed as a necessity Obviously there will be incr...
