Re: A chocolate shop for Sydenham?
I am all for one or the other. The chocolate is absolutely amazing (they opened one in Brixton last year and went to a couple of events) and they also serve decent coffee, hot chocolate and cakes etc I believe so could be more then just a chocolate shop also.. The Brixton venue was toying with late ...

Free speech and language therapy advice
I'm planning on stationing myself in a different cafe every couple of weeks on a Sunday to offer any advice on speech and language to locals :) I currently work with adults in a hospital setting but as part of my training (and outside) have had experience with children and found at times parents of ...

Aga's little cafe
Noticed a sign saying Aga's little cafe will no longer be running as a cafe :( Not clear whether will continue to run it as something slightly limited and different (see further info below!) or whether it's just the end of its tenure as a pop-up full stop. Anyways, on a slightly happier note they ha...

Re: SYDENHAM'S POCKET PARKS
Similar to a few suggestions - how about pairing up a couple of complementary traders to take the spot for a single saturday or sunday every month (and have a rotation of pairs).. examples: Van Dough (http://www.vandough.co.uk/about/4556132941) and Late Knight Brewery (http://www.lateknightsbrewery....

Accentuate the positive perhaps?! (I don't have kids so please take what I say with a pinch of salt from an outsider's perspective!) - My sister's fiance was part of a research study and was even on newsround (the big leagues people ;) regarding european children vs uk children and travelling to sch...

Re: Keen cycle nuts in Sydenham ?
Andy and Stuart - All sounds excellent.and will endeavour to get involved in a couple of weeks once settled after moving in... Think would have to have a couple of practice/longer cycles before getting onboard with the longer ones although the draw of cake and ale is a good motivator

Re: SYDENHAM'S POCKET PARKS
Is there any reason the market couldn't be more then monthly to make use of the spaces or is it a mix of not enough demand / the other markets that operate on a sunday meaning that monthly is the way forward? Or possibly a food market and a craft market alternating every 2 weeks? (I gather the see3 ...

Re: Microbrewery - tomorrow, one night only!
Unfortunately I am pegged in with a couple of mates to do a crawl from Sydenham to Forest Hill to get accustomed with the surroundings and pubs (many thanks for all the information on another thread detailing pub closures/still open etc)! Next time however as have visited their small pub in Gypsy HI...

Re: AGAS LITTLE CAFE: KIRKDALE
I took my parents there last month to show them the circuit or Sydenham - Kirkdale - Forest Hill and had a pretty mean sandwich (choice of avocado in place of butter was a delicious treat) and excellent coffee. Spacious and nicely decorated interior so a pretty decent spot for one and all, whether i...

Re: An introduction
Many thanks for the kind words of welcome and the recommendations. I've scoured the surrounding area far too much (I already knew Crystal Palace and Gypsy Hill fairly well beforehand) and already have a huge hit-list of places (That's Amore, Alhambra's and Aga's cafe's in Kirkdale alongside the pubs...

Re: Natural planning
On my travels (I make it sound a tad more exotic then reality I must admit) around Sydenham and Forest Hill whilst looking for a property I popped into the sweet shop near Forest Hill Pools (for the life of me I can't remember the name of it) and had a lovely chat with the owner who stated something...

Re: Change of use 98 Kirkdale ( Behind the Boxes) to takeawa
Fantastic news by all accounts I believe - Don't think there was a single poster who felt that a benefit would be a good addition/benefit the locale. Excellent stuff.
