Re: Parking problems
Looks like cars are being moved from Tredown Road by truck...if anyone is missing a silver Corsa, one has just been deposited on Maitland Road. Only the one car - the car parked in the 'Car Club' space. It actually hasn't been all that painful - more notice would have been nice, but I was expecting...

Re: Parking problems
Tomorrow's going to be a lot of fun. We were informed on Friday afternoon that there would be no parking or unloading or anything between 8am and 5pm on Monday. We're on Tredown Rd. So all the cars on our street will have to find somewhere else to park themselves... Agree! Nothing like last minute ...

Re: Parking problems
Would it be possible to have a CPZ covering both the Lewisham and Bromley parts of the roads between Sydenham and Penge East? Those roads are used by commuter parkers, I can identify several. New double yellow lines are appearing on the junction between which will reduce spaces even further, but at ...

Re: Granite / quartz worktops... Amtico floors
Thanks Rachel. Everyone seems to love their Amtico or Karndean floors! Just felt the installation costs are pricey but perhaps it is worth it.
Cheers,
Sue

Granite / quartz worktops... Amtico floors
And recommendations on where to source a granite or quartz kitchen worktop? We have a couple of (eye-watering ) quotes and wondered if anyone had a personal recommendation.
Additionally, anyone had much experience with Amtico floors? Are they worth the considerable outlay?!
Many thanks!

Re: Golden Lion pub
Yes that's right, families should not be allowed in pubs on the weekend for a quiet Sunday lunch. All children scream, all the time. Jeez, stay in the Dolphin if you don't like children.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Surprise surprise the issue of kids in pubs comes up again. I really don't see what the problem is. Sydenham is crying out for a family - friendly pub where we can have a relaxed Sunday lunch with our children or a weekday morning/lunchtime parent-baby/toddler group can meet and therefore boost the ...

Re: Yet another bad smash in Lawrie Park Road
The double yellows on the Tredown / Newlands Park junction were installed by Lewisham council because the dangerous nature of that spot was brought to their attention by local residents. Ok, it took a while (over a year) but action was taken. Whatever other actions might be considered re CPR, it mu...

Re: Yet another bad smash in Lawrie Park Road
I live on a corner (Newlands park / Tredown road) and we have double yellows around the junction on both roads. I assumed this was consistent and the law. Parking is bad enough but safety is paramount. I cannot believe that people park as per the pictures. Well they do on Tredown and Homecroft corn...

We're really happy with Kelvin Grove. The head and teachers are great and our son is doing well there.

Re: Southern services to/from London Bridge
Southern are tweeting that the temporary reduction of evening services is being extended until this Friday. I imagine the same thing will happen again for next week... and the next.
Agree we need extra Overground services to compensate.

Re: Southern services to/from London Bridge
There are now only 3 tracks into LB for Southern trains instead of 6. A couple of morning trains were removed in the new year, including the one I used to get at 6.48. The morning train I now get has been late all week. But the evening is so congested with trains and not enough track that the soluti...

http://www.southernrailway.com/southern/news/important-information-southern-services-amended-from-january-2015/ From the .pdf on here there are many Southern train changes from Jan 2015. I've already spotted that my 6.48 to London Bridge (i.e. the 6.19 from Victoria) will no longer reach Sydenham. A...

Re: Threatening behaviour at Lower Sydenham Station parking
Yes Lewisham manage the road upkeep (or not, as the case is at the moment) but we on the south side pay Bromley council tax etc. Parking on Byne and Wiverton can be very tricky but I don't know if that is station parking or just the sheer number of homes. I'd also like to see a 20mph zone around her...
