Tried a bottle of Hop Garden Gold, brewed by the Hogs Back Brewery Company (whoever they are), from Lidl yesterday.
Described as "a golden hoppy english pale ale", it wasn't bad at all, and more than holds its own in company with all the other 'boutique' beers out there. Didn't notice how much it was, but presumably 'Lidl prices'

Hogs back are a good brewer. Good standard English ales in my opinion. Lidl also do a couple of excellent Belgian ales. A wit (refreshing wheat beer usually made with coriander and lemon rind) and a blonde ale (a bit like Leffe but nicer). Well worth checking out.
