New shops in lower Sydenham

Post by syd-gal »

I see there is a new dog grooming shop and next to it a new (?) general "sweet shop" in Lower Sydenham, across from the library and down on the next block. And the new flats on the next block seem nearly ready, so things are happening in that neck of the woods.

It's all the rage, Robin. There's one opened up in Beckenham, by Clock House.

Our dogs have always groomed themselves, without charge.

In human terms, you are confusing 'washing' and 'barbering'.

@Syd-Gal: No. They are/were dogs. They're not into nice designs.

@Rachael. They don't/didn't need barbering. Dogs prefer the natural look.

Depends on the dog. Mine does because he suffers from heat stroke in the summer if I don't get him clipped.

Fair enough. Medical grounds. Hardly 'grooming.'

Has the dog grooming shop closed down? I see the shutters have been down since last week and the sign board above the shop has disappeared except for the picture of a dog.
The shop was never busy.
Whereas the one near Clock House seems to be thriving.

The groomer has moved and set up shop at the back of White’s pet shop further up the high street.

That sounds like a better location.

There is also one that has just opened up in the back of the pet shop on the high street. There are now the same number of dog grooming salons as nail bars and undertakers.
