The new building at 138A Sydenham Road, near the Hexagon building, has a planning application to become a Yoga studio.

How much yoga does Sydenham need? There's the Dragonfly place, the Sydenham Centre and now this place. Wasn't there talk of the old Ladbrokes (now St Christopher's furniture shop) being a yoga studio. I guess there may be demand and Sydenham is going to be full of fit and flexible people.

I think initially both “more yoga” and “dragonfly yoga” were looking at/hoping to open in Sydenham and you are right, the corner site with the old ladbrokes/current short-term (?) St.Christophers was a site one had in mind. Due to a number of things this didn’t get sorted in time and St.Christophers bagged the space. As “More Yoga” are due to open a studio in Forest Hill I’m not sure they would also still be wanting to open in Sydenham (although they are expanding at a rapid rate all over London) so would puny a guess at a separate/different yoga company. I think a little competition (and one less empty shop) is great but agree that having too much of the same type of thing isn’t as preferable as something a bit different which may be more useful to a wider range of people.
