Great news. In the sixties my Dad took me to most of the meetings, saw all the Greats. Using the old path circuit will still be exciting, even on a timed basis.

I went to the motorsport event in Crystal Palace Park about 9 - 10 years ago and it was a superb day.

Will definitely be there this year if I'm around that weekend.

I came across this in the SLP:
Why aren't events like this "On Our Doorstep" advertised locally ?
Missed out on the music (local bands) last year too.....

I suspect there's a hope that denying these events the oxygen of local publicity, means they might fail, which I'm sure would cheer up the resident noise police, that got London's only International race track closed 37 years ago and put paid to most of the activities of the concert bowl.

What a great event to have on our doorstep. Again, new nothing about this until I saw this thread. Its a shame the publicity isn't great for events like these, or am I missing something ?
As for noise, a small price to pay for something so exciting. Anyway, most locals will be either out enjoying the weather or on a weekend break away.
I shall certainly be making the short walk over there.

Heard it but couldn't go. Be great if someone who did could post some pictures.

I would have loved to go, but it clashed with the Turkish GP! Tomorrow's programme at CP doesn't interest me anywhere near as much as today's did.

Someone will now come along and tell me that the GP was shown on a giant screen in the park...
